If one is born in a border region and becomes a Buddha, they become a Shravaka; if they do not become a Buddha, they become a Pratyekabuddha. Secondly, the classification of what is to be attained, the Abhisamaya (Realization), is threefold: the nature of the Abhisamaya itself, the distinctions of the qualities it relies on, and the explanation of the differences between them. The first is further divided into three: the differences in names, their respective essences, and the differences in the Abhisamayas of the Greater and Lesser Vehicles. The first is that there are ten Abhisamayas, namely Dharma Abhisamaya, etc. Among these, the first seven are distinctions of essence, and the last three are distinctions of aspect. Secondly, Dharma Abhisamaya is when, in the stage of the Accumulation Path, one gains great faith and understanding in the Dharma, such as the Sutras, which are based on the Truths, because it focuses on the collection of names, sentences, and letters. Artha Abhisamaya is when, in the Application Path, one properly directs the mind through worldly meditation-born wisdom on the Dharma, which is based on the Truths. It is the Kshanti (Patience) stage, where one definitely contemplates on the impermanence of the Truths, and it is great in relation to the Accumulation Path. Among these, the smaller of the great proper mental activities is the Heat stage, the intermediate is the Peak stage, and the great are the Patience and Supreme Dharma stages. That very Abhisamaya is the Seeing Path, because it is the direct realization of the Suchness of the Truths. There, one obtains the conventional wisdom that establishes the Truths as being such and such, in order to nourish their seeds with the power of transcendental wisdom. It is not manifest, because the sixteen moments of the mind are continuous, and there is no opportunity for a worldly mind. Anu-Abhisamaya (Subsequent Realization) can be either worldly or transcendental before the Seeing Path; it is all the Paths of Cultivation. Ratna Abhisamaya (Jewel Realization) is after seeing the Truths, exclaiming that the Bhagavan is a Fully Enlightened Buddha, that his Dharma and Vinaya are well-spoken, and that his Sangha of Shravakas has entered well, gaining faith after knowing through the power of realizing the nature of Dharma. Sarvada Anutpada Abhisamaya (Always Non-Arising Realization) is the attainment of vows to never commit evil, gathered by the morality that pleases the Noble Ones, with the Noble Ones in training thinking thus, etc. This is the stage of the Seeing Path.

Secondly, it is attained and then manifestly realized. The ultimate realization has been explained. These seven realizations are called the realizations of the Hearers because they are attained by the Hearers relying on the voice of others. Those that are attained entirely or as much as possible without relying on the voice of others are called the realizations of the Solitary Realizers. The realization of the Bodhisattva is that, because he is skilled in the methods of taming those of the Hearer and Solitary Realizer lineages, with respect to those seven realizations, the patience of truly accomplishing them is to know them as they are. As it says in the Pramāṇavārttika: "Out of compassion, to destroy suffering, He manifests in various methods, Because the cause of the methods is hidden, It is very difficult to explain them." Like that. It is not to manifest them, because observing sentient beings, it is certain that they will not arise from the Lesser Vehicle. That is the realization to be understood, and the realization to be manifested is again, on the Very Joyful Ground, the Bodhisattva enters into the faultless, uncontaminated state, and directly realizes the Dharma Realm without beginning, end, or middle, the selflessness of phenomena, which is called the realization of the Bodhisattva. Merely mentioning the Very Joyful Ground is because there the Dharma Realm is directly realized, and there is no difference from the realization of the higher grounds. Because there is no distinction in Suchness, and all wisdoms are also similar in that they have the Dharma Realm as their object. The third (section) has two parts. First, the general presentation of the distinctions: What are the distinctions between the realizations of the Hearers and the Bodhisattvas? It should be said that, with respect to that, the distinction of the object is that they do not focus on the extremely vast canon, and because of the object. The distinction of relying closely is because they accumulate merit only for the duration of existence, and because they accumulate the accumulations of merit and wisdom for countless great eons. The distinction of fully realizing is because they only realize the selflessness of persons, and because they realize both selflessnesses. The distinction of promising is because they only want to accomplish their own benefit, and because they promise to equalize self and others. The distinction of definitely emerging is because they only emerge with the inferior seven grounds, and because they definitely emerge with the ten grounds. The distinction of completely holding is because they only fall into peace, and do not abide
