That is, regarding all collections of names, words, and letters, it is merely considered that they are established as expressions of mind, but in reality, it is recognized that they are not perfectly established by their own nature. Searching in all things is how to express them with names, etc. These aggregates, etc., are not perfectly established by their own characteristics, but are merely considered as expressions of mind to recognize and analyze. Searching for the establishment of the essence is the connection between expression and what is expressed, such as abdominal distension, etc., is the essence of things, and bottles, etc., are the essence of names. It is merely the cause of establishing terminology, but the essence of name and meaning is not perfectly established by its own nature. Universally searching for the establishment of differences is also the same. The agreed connection between expression and what is expressed, such as permanence and impermanence, existence and non-existence, form and formlessness, etc., are merely established as the nature of differences, which is the cause of terminology. However, these are not perfectly established by their own nature, so they are analyzed and recognized. Why is conventional agreement merely the cause of establishing the terminology of essence and difference? Because only by mastering the agreement that abdominal distension is called a bottle can one say that abdominal distension is a bottle, and also from seeing the object of abdominal distension, one can recognize that this is a bottle, thereby generating recognition of the name. As stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: Names and things, between each other, are sudden donations. And, these two establishments are only sought here. As it is said. Second, the complete knowledge of the fruition is all dharmas, etc. How to search for the four names, etc., does not appear with its own nature, but is merely the expression of mind, merely the consciousness of distinction. As it is said: Because everything is without object, there are four kinds of true wisdom. Sixth, of the two meditation-born grounds, what is shown by name is: As stated in the Ornament: Relying on similar dharmas, properly applying the mind, abiding in the realm of the mind, seeing existence and non-existence, from then on it transforms into equality. As it is said, the Yoga ground is the five kinds such as the base. In each of the essences, there are two kinds of cause ground and effect ground. The first is that the base of yoga is the collection.

Therefore, one should extensively study the teachings based on the Four Noble Truths as explained during the accumulation of great merit, because this itself is the primary cause of yoga. Generation refers to focusing on extensive learning, properly contemplating its meaning, and holding the mind in a way that contemplates its meaning. The first is learning, and the latter is guiding contemplation and meditation. Like a mirror refers to the samadhi that focuses on extensive learning, with conceptualization and characteristics of the image similar to the object of knowledge. This is included in the mundane path of meditative application. Appearance refers to the non-apprehension of the grasped and the grasper, knowing the wisdom that transcends the world, included in the path of seeing. Regarding this, according to the meaning of the scriptures, referring to the mirror-like and appearance, in the classification of yoga, it is taught: For the sake of enlightenment, a bodhisattva who can endure accumulates the two accumulations, in three countless eons, in accordance with the nature of the inevitable arising of phenomena, from hearing, properly contemplating and abiding, seeing the image of the knowable in the mind is no different from the mind. Therefore, the perception of objects disappears, and this is the wisdom of warmth. Then, the mind itself appears as objects and phenomena, affirming one's own perception, and this is the wisdom of the peak. In this way, the inner mind abides in the mind, and it should be realized that there is absolutely no grasping, and this is the wisdom of forbearance. After that, if there is no dependence on the grasped, it should also be realized that there is no grasper dependent on it, and this is the supreme mundane wisdom. Then, without apprehending both the grasped and the grasper, touching and directly realizing the suchness of self-luminous nature, this is the path of seeing. Thus, it is well said for the sake of the perfection of meaning. It is well spoken for the sake of the perfection of words. The state of fruition is the suchness of the mind's self-luminous nature, which is the transformation of the nature that is free from the faults of all the afflictions that arise suddenly. In the Ornament of the Sutras, it is also said: 'That is the place of complete transformation, the ground is considered to be the first.' Thus it is said.
