It is called non-selective cessation because it has made the object to be abandoned into a nature of never arising. The abandonment included in the fruits of those who have entered the stream, etc., who are still learning, is called incomplete cessation, because the abandonment is not completely complete. The abandonment included in the fruits of the Arhats is called complete cessation, because all that should be abandoned has been abandoned. The cessation of the Arhats who are liberated by wisdom is called unadorned, because they do not possess the adornments of clairvoyance and liberation, etc. The cessation of those who are liberated from both the afflictive obscurations and the obscurations of meditative absorption is called adorned, because they possess the adornments of the three knowledges and the six clairvoyances, etc. Remaining and non-remaining are merely differences in understanding. The cessation included in the Nirvana that does not abide in the two extremes of existence and peace is called particularly excellent, because it becomes the basis of benefit and happiness for all sentient beings, both immediately and in the long term. The brief indication by name in terms of categories is "completely abandoned," and so on. There are three explanations of this in detail: abandonment, qualities, and categories of dispelling suffering. First, why is the truth of cessation called "completely abandoned"? Because it is up to the point of "the remaining words disappear." Definitely abandoned, because the manifest entanglement of afflictions has been abandoned. Becoming purified, because the habits and seeds of afflictions are completely and thoroughly eliminated. The abandonment of entanglement and habits themselves, by the distinction of being separated by the antidote path of seeing and the path of meditation, are called exhaustion and detachment in order. Cessation, because the suffering, the result of that affliction, does not arise in the future. Pacified, because in that visible dharma, the suffering of the mind, the unpleasantness, the result of the affliction, does not wander. Disappeared, because the remaining aggregates of the previous karma and afflictions naturally disintegrate. Second, merit
