If, like acting and contemplating, the feeling also ripens in the same way, then abiding in pure conduct becomes meaningless. Because of this, due to having strong afflictions, separately considering, for the sake of guarding the precepts, accompanied by suffering and unpleasantness. If the ripening also feels the same way, then completely guarding it is meaningless. For others' wives, arising affection and so on, accompanied by happiness and pleasure, breaking the precepts, therefore if its ripening also feels the same way, then abandoning it is meaningless. In that case, the opportunity to exhaust and ultimately liberate from the suffering of samsara will also not exist, because the ripening of abiding in pure conduct, which is the cause of it, is suffering. When the person who acts is acting, whether he has happiness or suffering, whether the ripening is happiness or suffering, if he feels like that, acting good deeds or bad deeds, and so on, ripening like that, feeling happiness or suffering, then relying on pure conduct with strong afflictions accompanied by suffering and unpleasantness is meaningful. Abiding like that will become possible, and that is also the antidote cause for exhausting the presence or absence of suffering, therefore there is also the opportunity to exhaust suffering and ultimately liberate. So what is the intention of that sutra? In this regard, the first sutra is to prevent the inconsistency of cause and effect, and the second sutra is to allow the consistency. That is also like this, in this sutra such as "as it is acted and contemplated", it is forbidden to experience happiness and so on as the ripening of the karma of having happiness and so on at the time of acting, because in that way one will not abide in pure conduct, and one will not abandon non-pure conduct. Like the karma of experiencing like that, acting and contemplating, and so on, at the time of acting, whether feeling happiness, or suffering, or neither of the two, no matter which one has, the ripening of the good karma that will experience happiness is allowed to experience happiness. At the time of acting, no matter which of the three feelings one has, the ripening of the bad karma that will experience suffering.

They are given to experience the ripening of suffering. When karma is created, whatever of the three feelings is present, what is experienced is neither suffering nor pleasure. Like the ripening of virtue from the fourth dhyana and above, what appears to be experienced is neither pleasure nor suffering. This is the intent of this sutra. The third part is divided into distinctions and separate explanations. The first part is "the karma of vows," etc. That is, completely turning away from harming others from the root is a vow, completely engaging in harming others is a non-vow, and engaging in benefiting or harming others in one aspect is neither a vow nor a non-vow. The second part is the separate explanation, which is divided into three parts. The first part is the general display of the distinctions of vows: abandoning non-virtuous actions with the three doors, properly taking them up, and arising from signs is the vow of individual liberation. Relying on the faultless vow that has been properly taken up, dwelling in any of the six dhyanas with regretlessness as the cause, and the abandonment of destroying the seeds of immoral conduct with calm abiding is called the vow of dhyana. Relying on the faultless vow of morality and the vow of dhyana, realizing the truth, and when obtaining the fruit of non-return, the abandonment of completely destroying the seeds of immoral conduct is called the vow of no outflow. That is, when obtaining the first fruit by relying on the uninterrupted path, the seeds of immoral conduct that cause one to fall into the lower realms are completely destroyed. When obtaining the fruit of non-return, all the seeds of immoral conduct are completely destroyed. When obtaining the fruit of an arhat, it is only distinguished by the difference of antidote and complete purification, but not by the difference of abandoning the unfavorable. Because when one is free from desire from desire, all the afflictions caused by immoral conduct have been abandoned. The vow of no outflow
