The mind that craves by savoring, and the mind that manifests with the thought of making what belongs to others one's own, this mind of manifestation, and being entangled by greed, therefore having no shame, and not knowing how to be liberated from faults, possessing a suppressed mind. Therefore, as mentioned above, if any one of the greeds is incomplete, the characteristic of greed is not complete; if it is completely occupied by all the limbs, then one should know that the characteristic of greed is complete. Among them, the complete limbs of the characteristic of malice are fivefold: having an angry mind because of clinging to the cause of harm as a sign of the Dharma that is in accordance with it; having an intolerant mind because of not tolerating harm; repeatedly thinking improperly and recalling the past, thus having a mind of holding grudges; thinking, 'How wonderful it would be if I could beat or kill these sentient beings!' this manifesting mind, having a mind of annoyance; like before, having a suppressed mind. Therefore, if any one of the five is incomplete, the characteristic of malice is not complete, and if it is complete, it should be known as complete. The complete limbs of the characteristic of wrong view are fivefold: because of not knowing how to know the correct object of knowledge as it is, thus having a deluded mind; liking to do evil, thus having a violent (or rough) mind; discriminating and ascertaining improper Dharma, thus having a mind that enters the wrong path; slandering that there is no giving, offering, fire offering, and sexual misconduct, thus having an extremely decadent mind; like before, having a suppressed mind. If any one of the five is incomplete, the characteristic of wrong view is not complete, and if it is complete, it should be known as complete. The detailed classification of these ten paths of action should be viewed in the Compendium of Determinations and other treatises, but here it is not written because of fear of many words. The ten non-virtuous paths of action with the characteristics mentioned above

Even if abiding in the basis, one should abandon and refuse to accept. This should be understood as the ten paths of virtuous actions, such as abandoning killing. There are five aspects to what is explained in the meaning of the sutra: intentional actions, accumulation and determination, the fruits of virtue and non-virtue, conditioned phenomena, and the afflictions of the ten non-virtuous actions. First, regarding what appears in the sutra as "actions arising from intention," what is the nature of actions arising from intention? It has five aspects. Among them, being coerced by others means that one is unwilling, but others forcefully coerce one to intentionally engage in non-virtue. Being persuaded by others means that some are unwilling, but others persuade them, thinking it is beneficial, and thus they are made to accept and intentionally engage in non-virtue. Not knowing means that some arbitrarily contemplate obvious faults and qualities, and thus engage in non-virtue. Being attached to the root means that some are overwhelmed by non-virtuous forms such as attachment, and contemplate with strong attachment, thus engaging in non-virtue. Being inverted means that some, although desiring the Dharma, are attached to incompatible causes, and contemplate for the sake of future results, thus engaging in non-virtue. Among these, the first three intentional actions, even if done, will not accumulate, therefore, their ripening will not necessarily be experienced. The two intentional actions of being attached to the root and being inverted, because they have been done and accumulated, therefore, their ripening will not necessarily not be experienced. Explaining accumulated and determined actions: what is the meaning of doing and accumulating actions? Doing actions means engaging in that action through the three doors of body, speech, and mind. Accumulating means that in the alaya consciousness, the imprints of ripening are fully nourished and increased. Therefore, there are five actions that have been done but not accumulated, such as the first two or three intentional actions. There are also actions that have been accumulated but not done, such as contemplating for a long time for the sake of killing, but not actually engaging in that action. There are also actions that possess both, such as the last two intentional actions.
