Because if that antidote is separated from, afflictions will arise again. For example, seeds soaked in sesame oil will not sprout for a while, but if they are separated from the power of sesame oil, they can sprout again. However, the path beyond the world makes it so that the mind-stream that has arisen in any being's continuum will not produce the afflictions that should be abandoned, and therefore it is called abandoning latent tendencies, just like burning seeds with fire. The origin of afflictions has been explained. Next, wanting to explain the origin of karma, it is said, "What is karma?" In this regard, there is a brief explanation with two and five, a detailed explanation of these two, a determination based on the meaning of the sutra, and an explanation of these in various ways. First, the sutra says, "Monks, I say that thought is also karma, and intention is also karma." Therefore, thought and intention are two types of karma. All karma is included in these two, so this is a brief summary of the nature of karma. Furthermore, there are five types of karma: namely, the karma of object, such as the eye and so on perceiving forms and so on; the karma of function, such as earth supporting and water gathering; the karma of effort, which is to first have an idea and then engage in the karma of body and speech; the karma of transformation, such as using gold ore to transform gold into ornaments and other decorations; and the karma of attainment, such as attaining Nirvana through the path beyond the world, and attaining worldly detachment through meditation. In this context of explaining the truth of origin, it is mostly considered the karma of effort, because the karma of thought and intention are primary. Obtaining desired things through virtuous karma, and because of holding one's own nature, there are also the karma of function and attainment. Second, explaining these two in detail, the first is the nature of the karma of thought: the intention at the time of the cause that initiates virtuous or non-virtuous actions of body and speech, which is the karma of mind that clearly fabricates. The divisions are three, such as merit, and their nature will be explained later. The second is the nature of the karma of intention: the virtuous or non-virtuous karma of the three gates of

The mind of intention at that time, what is their nature, has already been explained when explaining the characteristics of non-revealing form. The divisions are the three types of actions of body, etc. Those actions of body, etc., each become two types, good and non-good. Among them, non-good also comes from three aspects: preparation, main action, and subsequent action. The rough outline of the main action is summarized as the ten non-virtuous paths of action, such as killing. Among them, killing, etc., are the revealing forms of the body, and the minds that accompany them are the paths of action of killing, etc., because they are the essence of the action and lead to bad migrations. Lying, etc., are the revealing forms of speech, and the minds that accompany them are established as the paths of action of lying, etc. The minds that accompany covetousness, etc., are also the paths of action of that and that. Among them, the revealing forms of body and speech of the seven actions of body and speech, although they are the nature of killing, etc., and lying, etc., are only nominally established as the paths of action of that and that. Those minds that accompany them, because they cause the actions of body and speech, such as killing and taking what is not given, etc., are only names proximately designated as killing, etc., but the path of action of killing, etc., is real. Good actions also have three aspects: preparation, main action, and subsequent action. The outline of the main action is summarized as the ten virtuous paths of action. What are those? They are abstaining from killing, etc. Among them, abstaining from killing, etc., are the revealing forms of the body, and the mind that accompanies it is the path of action of that and that. Such and so forth should be understood as before. How are the characteristics of the non-virtuous paths of action such as killing established? The afflicted mind and its intention, based on that basis, create

Acting, and completion, are a brief summary of the nature of actions such as killing. Among them, an afflicted mind is a mind overwhelmed by the three poisons such as desire. If there is an afflicted mind, but it is not fully practiced with the thought of recognizing the basis as it, even if it is completed, it will not become a complete path of action, because the two branches of thought and action are not complete. If there is an afflicted mind and that thought, but only completely act on another object that is contrary to the mind, even if it is finally completed, it is not a complete path of action, because only the motivation is present, and the action and the main action are not complete. If there is an afflicted mind and that thought, and also completely act on that itself, but it is not finally completed, it will not become a complete path of action, because the main branch is not complete. If there is an afflicted mind, and there is that thought, and that action is performed completely on that itself, and it is finally completed, then that non-virtuous path of action is complete. The characteristics of these ten paths of action, in detail, should be understood as being established separately in five ways, namely: basis, thought, action, affliction, and completion. Among them, the basis is the object that the actions of killing, etc., enter into, that is, sentient and non-sentient things, relying on which the ten non-virtuous paths of action such as killing arise accordingly. There are two types of thought: the thought of recognition and the thought of wanting to do. The thought of recognition should also be viewed from four aspects: recognizing the basis as it, recognizing what is not it as it, recognizing it as not it, and recognizing what is not it as not it. The thought of wanting to do is: wanting to do any thought that is inverted or not inverted. Action is the action of one's own or another's body, speech, and mind for the purpose of doing that action. Affliction is any of the three poisons such as desire. Completion or ending is complete
