The wrong view that the results of generosity and misdeeds do not mature, and the one-sided views that there are no spontaneously born beings without parents, etc., are entering wrongly into the aspect of suffering. The act of heretics who slander the truth of suffering is also entering wrongly into the aspect of suffering. The view that Īśvara, Brahmā, Prajāpati (Sanskrit Devanagari: प्रजापति, Sanskrit Romanization: Prajāpati, Chinese literal meaning: Lord of Creatures), etc., are permanent is entering wrongly into the aspect of impermanence. Thus, wrong view is entering wrongly into suffering. Holding a view as supreme, considering those views that have entered wrongly into suffering as supreme, etc., is entering wrongly into suffering. Holding the precepts and vows that are in accordance with that view as liberation, etc., is holding precepts and vows as supreme, which is entering wrongly into suffering. Those heretics who neither fully agree with establishing the truth of suffering, nor deny it by saying "it does not exist," but rather wonder, "Is it suffering? Is it not suffering?" and also doubting suffering, is entering wrongly into the truth of suffering through doubt. The attachment that is excessively attached to those views, and the hatred that torments others with views that are not in accordance with it, and the ignorance that is in accordance with those views and afflictions such as attachment, and the ignorance that is not in accordance with it, are also entering wrongly into suffering. Among these, the first two views, wrong view, and doubt are directly entering wrongly into suffering. The two kinds of holding as supreme and attachment are entering wrongly into wrong views, anger is entering wrongly through power, and ignorance is entering wrongly through all three aspects. Thus, the ten afflictions are entering wrongly into the truth of suffering and are to be abandoned by seeing suffering. How do the eight afflictions enter wrongly into the truth of the origin? The wrong view of those who say there is no cause, and of those who say that discordant things are the cause,

The wrong views that cling to things like Ishvara as creators and givers, and the wrong view of non-Buddhists that the Samana Gautama has attributed the truth of the origin to the hearers as non-existent, are wrong entries into the truth of the origin. The view that holds these views as supreme and sacred, and the supreme holding of discipline and asceticism that takes the discipline and asceticism that are in accordance with that view and holds them as pure liberation, etc., is also a wrong entry into the truth of the origin. The manner of wrongly engaging with the remaining attachment, etc., and the ultimate of doubt, should be viewed as before. Thus, these eight afflictions are wrongly engaged in the truth of origin, and are to be abandoned by seeing the origin. How are the eight afflictions wrongly engaged in the truth of cessation? The wrong view of those who see liberation in this very life, and the wrong view that there are no Arhats in the world, because Arhats are distinguished by knowledge and abandonment, so the slander of abandonment, and the wrong view of other non-Buddhists that the Samana Gautama has attributed to the truth of cessation as non-existent, are wrong entries into the truth of cessation. Furthermore, the wrong view that they have fabricated other forms of liberation is also a wrong entry into cessation. The holding of these views as supreme, etc., and the two supreme holdings of discipline and asceticism that take the discipline and asceticism that are in accordance with that and hold them as pure liberation, etc., are also wrong entries into cessation. The remaining attachment, etc., except for anger, are as before. Fear of cessation, and the anger that is completely tormented, are also wrong entries into cessation, and as before, being completely tormented by things that are inconsistent with that view. Thus, these eight afflictions are wrongly engaged in cessation and are to be abandoned by seeing cessation. How to understand
