Because of the change. Furthermore, forms do not remain even for a moment at the end of their continuum, because they are seen as decaying. It is known from the beginning that they change in an instant, otherwise, there would be no difference between the final stage and the previous stage, and therefore, like the previous stage, they would not change even at the end of the continuum. Even after arising, they are seen as decaying on their own without depending on conditions, therefore, it is evident that form exists only for a moment from the moment it arises, otherwise, in the absence of a destructive cause, the final stages would decay, and the previous stages would not decay, and there would be no difference between the two. Anything that decays on its own without depending on other destructive causes exists only for a moment, like the mind and mental factors. Inner and outer forms are also seen as decaying on their own without depending on other destructive causes, which is called observing contradictory pervasion. Incidentally, regarding the distinctions of form, there are two points: Regarding the causal relationship of aggregates of form, the sutra says, "Any form, whatever it may be," etc. If forms without the other elements such as fire are also observed, then what is the basis for saying this? This is because in some aggregates, all four great elements may exist as causes, but it is not the case that all forms must necessarily have all four elements. The meaning of the phrase in the sutra, "elements as the cause," is that the derived depend on one aspect of the elements, because without the aspect of the elements, the derived do not have the power to exist independently. Therefore, for any aggregate in which any element is observed, it should be said that it exists there with its own characteristics, otherwise it should be known that it does not exist. Thus, there are also aggregates formed from one element, such as a dry clod of earth. There are also those formed from two elements, such as a moist clod of earth. There are also those formed from three elements, such as a heated clod of earth. There are also those formed from four elements, such as when the clod of earth becomes moist, warm, sticky, and moves.

There are also those with one form caused by aggregation, such as light. There are also those with two, such as wind with sound and smell. There are also those with three, such as smoke. That is because it is distinguished by differences in form, smell, and touch. The difference in touch should also be understood here as heat. There are also those with four forms caused by aggregation, such as a lump of brown sugar. There are also those with five, such as that itself with sound. Thus, whatever arises and transforms from arising that is seen anywhere should be known to exist there, and not elsewhere. Regarding the analysis of atoms: Atoms should be known to be without body or substance, because colored things are divided by the mind to the smallest extreme, and are merely established as atoms. Why, if there is no body, are they established as atoms? Because when the mind divides form into parts and breaks it down into atoms, the notion of grasping them as a single whole, thinking, "All these internal forms are one," will be destroyed. Thus, it will be in accordance with entering into the selflessness of the person. Thus, when the mind breaks down form into atoms, it will realize that form has no essence of substance. Therefore, external forms will not be regarded as truly established as substance, but will be entered into as mere consciousness, and thus, realizing the selflessness of phenomena, it will be in accordance with entering into the selflessness of phenomena. In general, there are two divisions of suffering. What is to be explained is "And this suffering" and so on. The explanation of that is: For those who act in desire and have not accumulated roots of virtue that are in accordance with liberation and unwavering, their suffering is very extensive, accompanied by the suffering of the five realms and the four modes of birth, and is also not lessened because they have not accumulated roots of virtue that are in accordance with liberation and unwavering. Lessening refers to those who have generated roots of virtue in accordance with liberation, who will undoubtedly be completely liberated from suffering.
