Then it is to have power over the Dharma that has not been learned. The nature of the pariniṣpanna (perfected nature), is neither imputed like the parikalpita (completely imputed nature), nor is it established as real like the paratantra (other-dependent nature). If it were established as real, then would the paratantra be one entity or a different entity? Because for things that are established as real, other aspects are not reasonable. If it were one entity, then the pariniṣpanna would not become the object of wisdom, because like the paratantra, it is the nature of complete defilement. Or the paratantra would also not become the nature of complete defilement like the pariniṣpanna. If it were the second, then the paratantra would not be empty of the parikalpita, because the emptiness of the parikalpita, the pariniṣpanna, is not related to the paratantra. Therefore, this pariniṣpanna is to be realized by yogis with their own self-aware wisdom, in an inexpressible manner. This is not something that children can establish with terms such as existence or non-existence, because it transcends the realm of minds that perceive duality. Those Yogācārins who say that the tathāgatagarbha is considered to be the nature of wisdom, for them, there is not even a little bit of classification in this treatise, because the tathāgatagarbha is repeatedly said to be unconditioned, and many parts of this treatise say that the unconditioned is not included in the aggregates, and also because the ālaya-vijñāna (store consciousness) that is not included in the aggregates is not mentioned anywhere. If someone asks, 'Was it not said, 'This ultimate consciousness is separated from the apprehended and the apprehender'?' The answer is no, this is saying that the paratantra is not the true parikalpita, when it is true, the nature of non-duality of the apprehended and the apprehender, abides like a beryl egg free from impurities. Therefore, it is said that non-dual wisdom is the ultimate truth, and this is also the nominal pariniṣpanna, not the characteristic pariniṣpanna, because in the *Compendium on the Great Vehicle* it is said: 'By what aspect is it called the nominal pariniṣpanna? Because as it is imputed, it is completely non-existent.' Therefore, it is said like this. If someone says that the paratantra is established as conventional truth, not as ultimate truth, then it is not so, if

If one does not wish that other-powered nature is established as the ultimate truth, when the Madhyamikas refute the Yogācāras, it is as stated: If the other-powered nature, which is unborn and unknowable, is truly existent, then what harm can the son of a barren woman cause to that which should not exist? etc. Due to attachment to the substance of other-power, all the establishments of worldly conventions are also destroyed. etc. Why should one refute other-power? The Madhyamikas themselves do not wish other-power to be the conventional truth, because the Vijñānavādins have not accepted that other-power is established as true. Therefore, the two, Madhyamaka and Cittamātra, only argue about whether other-power is established as true or not. Otherwise, there is no basis for argument between them at all. Because the Madhyamikas also only refute the establishment of other-power as true in their own treatises, and the Vijñānavādins also only refute the Madhyamikas' unwillingness to establish other-power as true. It is also said in the commentary on the Thirty Verses: Or, like consciousness, the knowable is also substantial, and some think that both consciousness and the knowable are conventional truths, not ultimate truths. In order to refute these two extreme views, this treatise was composed. etc. Therefore, those who establish the system of Yogācāra say that the perfectly established is established as substantial in the ultimate truth, other-powered nature exists only nominally and not in the ultimate truth, and the completely imputed does not even exist nominally. Those who say this are speaking irrelevant words without facing the ocean-like treatises of Yogācāra, and are only clarifying their own views. Furthermore, in certain parts of the Vijñānavāda treatises such as the Madhyāntavibhāga, it is said that the ultimate truth is the only one. etc. Although it is shown that other-powered nature and the completely imputed are not established as the ultimate truth, and only the perfectly established is shown as the ultimate truth, this does not mean that the ultimate truth is not the object of worldly and transworldly wisdom, but rather that other-powered nature is not established as the ultimate truth that can be analyzed by reason.
