Moreover, it is also proven that it is not the view of the Hinayana Sutra Pitaka. There are two individuals who have become reliable persons for interpreting the views of the Mahayana Sutra Pitaka: the Holy Nagarjuna and the Holy Asanga. These two are reliable persons because the Tathagata prophesied that they would spread the Mahayana teachings in Jambudvipa. Among them, the Holy Nagarjuna mainly explained the essence of the teachings—the profound meaning, while the Holy Asanga mainly explained the extensive aspects of the teachings. The followers of the former (Nagarjuna) are called "those who speak of no self-nature," and the followers of the latter (Asanga) are called "the Mind-Only School." This is widely known among the great chariots of Tibet and China, and the views of their works also seem to be so. As the great translator Yeshe De's memorandum on views says: "There are two kinds of Madhyamaka views, so what are they like? The previous Madhyamaka Khenpo Acharya Nagarjuna and Aryadeva composed Madhyamaka treatises, and they were not divided into two kinds. After that, Acharya Asanga and Vasubandhu composed treatises of the Mind-Only School, proving that consciousness without external objects appears as objects, and they said that these consciousnesses are non-dual, which is the ultimate truth. Later, the Madhyamaka Khenpo Bhāviveka, there was an accomplished one who had the secret of the Nagarjuna School living here, refuting the Mind-Only School." And so on. In accordance with this, in the works of the teacher Lekdenjé and the glorious Chandrakirti, the views of the Asanga brothers are classified as belonging to the Mind-Only School and refuted. Furthermore, there are two kinds of emptiness that arise from the treatises of the Holy Nagarjuna: emptiness analyzed through reason and emptiness to be personally experienced by each yogi. The first is further divided into the emptiness of self of persons and the emptiness of self of phenomena. The first is, for the time being, in the aggregates, elements, and sources,

And, the Tirthikas' imputed person, self, and purusha, etc., prevent the nature of being an enjoyer of objects, and establish it as merely the dharma of the aggregates. As it is said in the sutra: In the "Praise of the Transcendent," it says, "You consider that only the aggregates are liberated, and there are no sentient beings." Thus it is proclaimed. Secondly, for the internal and external aggregates, realms, and sources, all the permanent and impermanent, self and selfless, birth and non-birth, etc., imputed by the proponents of their own and others' tenets are prevented, and it is shown that dependent arising is merely like an illusion. As it says in the same text: "The wise one, you also show to the wise that the aggregates are like illusions, mirages, cities of gandharvas, and dreams." And in the Root Wisdom: "Like a dream, like an illusion, like a city of gandharvas, likewise is birth, likewise is destruction, likewise it is said to abide." And so on, it is said in many places. These are called nominal emptiness because they are merely established as empty after being analyzed by the wisdom of hearing and thinking that follows reason. The noble ones should realize it in an inexpressible way with their own self-aware wisdom. What is designated as emptiness, the ultimate truth, is something that cannot be shown from the path of words in any extreme of elaboration, such as existence and non-existence, permanence and annihilation, emptiness and non-emptiness, and is beyond the object of all terms. As it says in the Root Verses on the Middle Way: "It is also said to be empty, it is not said to be non-empty, it is not said to be both or neither, it is said for the sake of designation." Thus it is proclaimed. Such a nature of emptiness is also the nature of this dependent arising that appears like an illusion, and there is nothing whatsoever established separately from this. As it says in the Praise of the Transcendent: "Whatever is dependent arising, you consider that to be emptiness." Thus it is proclaimed. Apart from these three, there is no acceptance whatsoever of an emptiness that is established as ultimately real, and an emptiness that is the negation of the conventional, which is the object to be negated. As it says in the Root Wisdom: "If there is even a little non-emptiness,
