Black karma that ripens is unwholesome, because its nature is afflicted and it desires to ripen. The opposite of that is white karma, the result of which is also white, and that is the virtue of the three realms. Karma that becomes black and white is any action in which desire realm virtue and non-virtue are mixed. How can one action become both black and white? Here, there is no fault because intention and accompanying action are considered as one action. Among them, intention is black and action is white, for example, some people give gifts or even ordain with the intention of deceiving others in order to make them believe. Action is black and intention is white, for example, some people do not benefit their sons or students, but instead want to benefit them, and perform harsh actions of body and speech with compassionate intention. Others are those that will be experienced in hell, and those that will be experienced in other desire realms. It is also said that other visible pus and blood to be abandoned, and other black and white (karma) arising from desire. What is the karma that is neither black nor white, and does not ripen, but exhausts contaminated karma? These are the practices of the path beyond the world and the uninterrupted path, etc. Among these, it is not black because it is free from the stain of affliction. It is white because it is completely purified. It does not ripen because it is uncontaminated, so it is not compatible with samsara. Karma is exhausted because the uncontaminated path can well destroy the predispositions that produce the ripening of black and other contaminated karmas. Furthermore, with regard to the intervals of these uncontaminated actions, three kinds of faults are mentioned: fault, transgression, and defilement. With regard to being in accordance with the uncontaminated path and its nature, purity and endurance are established in order. Among them, the karma of fault is the straightforward action of body, speech, and mind, which is an obstacle to the arising of the eightfold noble path. Transgression is any action of body, etc., that is refuted, and that produces an obstacle similar to it in the mind stream. Defilement is any action of body, etc., that relies on the views of non-Buddhists, which is the teaching of the Buddha.

Because faith in the doctrine is completely occupied by the impurity of disbelief. Furthermore, because it falls into the extremes of permanence and annihilation, it is a fault because it contradicts the Middle Way. Being possessed by the view of reverence, it is a transgression because it hates the establishment of purity. Being possessed by the view of the collection of ruins, it is called impurity because it obstructs the view of the suchness of selflessness. Purity refers to the actions of body, speech, and mind that are completely occupied by extremely pure discipline and by upright views, because they have abandoned the defilements that contradict discipline and views. The Victorious One refers to the uncontaminated actions of body, speech, and mind of those who are learning and those who are not learning, because that is the action of the Victorious Ones. Seventh, the action of giving should be understood by the four, beginning with the basis. Among them, the basis refers to the three roots of virtue, such as non-attachment, because it is by relying on them that one engages in the action of giving. The instigator is the mental activity that is in accordance with those three roots of virtue, because it causes the mind to focus on the action of giving. The object is the object to be given, such as the body and possessions. This is in the case of Bodhisattvas, but for others, only possessions are the object to be given. The nature is the action of body and speech, both expressive and non-expressive, at the time of giving. If one asks, "In what way does giving become complete and pure?" The sutra says, "Giving is different," which indicates the field of giving, because it has become possessed of that state, and therefore gives again and again. Giving to ascetics and Brahmins, beggars, the poor, and the hungry. This indicates giving without discrimination, because giving is without distinction to all desires. Food and drink, clothing and ornaments, garlands of flowers, and whatever human necessities, give, which indicates giving completely to desires. Food and drink, clothing and ornaments, garlands of flowers, and whatever human necessities, give, which indicates complete
