Moreover, since there is no form in the formless realm, there is no need to establish the precepts of discipline. This is obtained through the ninth liberation path, which is freedom from desire and attachment. When one obtains the actual basis of the four dhyanas and other minds of close proximity, it merely becomes more purified, and one does not obtain other dhyana precepts. When one falls from freedom from desire and attachment, one relinquishes it. The third is the unpolluted precept, which is the unpolluted abandonment of those who see the truth, who have completely destroyed the seeds of immoral discipline. This is also obtained at the time of realizing the truth, and the subsequent fruition and stages of the path of cultivation are merely that the antidotes and abandonments become more and more distinguished. In short, the dhyana precept is a bodhisattva who is in accordance with the contaminated samadhi that causes the seeds of afflictions that give rise to immoral discipline to deteriorate; the unpolluted precept is also a bodhisattva who is in accordance with the unpolluted samadhi that completely destroys the seeds of immoral discipline. This should be understood. Among them, the precept that arises from correct attention and expression itself, when the mind of dhyana is obtained, is called the dhyana precept because the opposing factors are diminished by quiescence. The dhyana precept itself, when the truth is realized, is called the unpolluted precept because the seeds of the opposing factors are completely destroyed. Therefore, the Pratimoksha precepts, dhyana precepts, and unpolluted precepts of those noble Shravakas are merely different in name, but not different in substance. Similarly, the Pratimoksha precepts and dhyana precepts of monks who have attained dhyana are also merely different in name, but not different in substance. Thus, if one considers it from the perspective of a single basis, then all precepts are included within the unpolluted precept. The dhyana precept does not include the unpolluted precept. The Bhikshu precept does not include the dhyana and unpolluted precepts. The three precepts and

This is said with reference to a single person who possesses (the three vows). In general, the nature of these three vows is very different. Thus, for the vows that are properly taken and arise from expression, whatever is abandoned is only individually distinct. For example, the bodhisattva who abandons killing cannot abandon the remaining paths of action such as taking what is not given, and so on. Therefore, the nature of the seven or ten abandonments is only individually distinct. But the abandonment of the vows of meditation and the uncontaminated is not individually distinct. For example, the abandonment that destroys the seed of one unchaste discipline itself destroys the seeds of other unchaste disciplines. Because the worldly or transworldly paths do not abandon each of the afflictions such as desire one by one. If the abandonment of the vows that are properly taken and arise from expression is only individually distinct, then when one commits a root downfall, one will only abandon the abandonment that is the antidote to it, and one should not abandon the others, because they are unrelated. If abandoning another that is unrelated causes the others to deteriorate, then if Devadatta commits a root downfall, it would be too extreme to abandon the vow of offering. Therefore, the Kashmiri masters say, "When it occurs, it is considered as two, like debt and property." Only this view is reasonable. If you say that, it is not so. For example, when one particularly commits a root downfall such as killing, then a great deal of shamelessness and shamelessness arises in that person's mind. Otherwise, one should not particularly practice the path of action that contradicts what is properly taken. Therefore, (committing a root downfall) makes it impossible for the mind to have the opportunity to generate strong shame and embarrassment. Because it is damaged by a powerful opposing force. For example, just as in a mind in which wrong view has arisen, there is no opportunity for right view to arise. In anyone's mind in whom shame arises...
