Therefore, for those external objects not included by the continuum, only the aspect of "mine" is negated. For those, one can grasp as "mine," but it is impossible to grasp as "I." For those objects included by the inner continuum, both the aspects of "I" and "mine" are negated. Because for those, the aspect of "I" arises from what is included by one's own continuum, and the aspect of "mine" arises from what is included by others. Fourth, explaining the differences of these, there are three points: one is the discussion on momentary impermanence, two is the general classification of suffering, and three is the discussion on death suffering. The first point is further divided into two parts: one is proving that form is momentary. The definition of momentary is impermanence itself. Since mind and mental factors arise in various forms moment by moment, they are momentary. How are the inner and outer forms momentary? Just like mind and mental factors, inner and outer forms should also be regarded as momentary. Like this, the inner bodies are controlled by the momentary mind, because the mind and the body are one in terms of existence, duration, and happiness. Like this, the body associated with consciousness truly exists, but the body separated from consciousness will decay, etc. Furthermore, in states of happiness, suffering, desire, and hatred, etc., the body also changes accordingly with the changes of the mind. The body with senses is the place or basis where the momentary mind arises, just like this: Whatever relies on something, as long as the basis is not destroyed, what relies on it will not be destroyed. For example, if the lamp does not go out, the light will not go out. Since the mind relying on the body with senses is regarded as perishing in a moment, therefore, its basis, the body, is also proven to be perishing in a moment. Inner and outer forms are also momentary because they arise due to the influence of the momentary mind. Because it is contradictory for the cause to be impermanent and the result to be permanent. As said in the sutra: Whatever is the cause and condition for the arising of form is impermanent, relying on the impermanent

As it is said, "How could form arising from conditions be permanent?" Furthermore, these inner and outer forms are controlled by the mind in an instant. Because of the power of the exceptionally superior mind, these inner and outer forms change into different forms as desired. Moreover, all forms change and are destined to perish without staying for even an instant at the end of their own continuum. Therefore, it is known that they change in an instant. Otherwise, there would be no difference between the final state and the previous state, and like the previous state, they would not change even at the end of the continuum. Also, from the moment of arising, without depending on conditions, they are destined to perish by their own nature. Therefore, form is evident as existing for only an instant from the moment of arising. Otherwise, in the absence of a cause of destruction, the final states would perish, while the previous states would not perish, and there would be no difference between them. Whatever perishes by its own nature without depending on other causes of destruction exists for only an instant, like the mind and mental factors. Inner and outer forms also perish by their own nature without depending on other causes of destruction, which is called the observation of contradictory pervasion. Incidentally, regarding the distinctions of form, there are two. The aggregation of form is the classification of cause and effect. The sutra says, "Whatever form there is..." etc. If one observes form without observing other elements such as fire, then what is the intention behind this? This is because some aggregates may have all four great elements as their cause, but this does not mean that all forms must necessarily have all four elements. The meaning of the sutra's "element as cause" is that the arisen depends on one aspect of the element. Because without depending on one aspect of the element, the arisen cannot exist independently. Therefore, in whatever aggregate whatever element is observed, it should be said that it exists there by its own characteristic, while others are not known to exist. Thus, there are also aggregates formed from one element, such as earth and stone.
