In short, there are two types of other-powered nature: the other-powered nature of habitual imprints, and the other-powered nature that is not fully established as the nature of all-pervasive affliction and complete purification. What is the meaning of these? That is, this unreal all-pervasive conception arises as the nature of dualistic appearance due to the power of its own seed of habitual imprints, so it is established as the first other-powered nature. Because it is naturally completely pure, it is not entirely established as the nature of all-pervasive affliction, and because it is suddenly disturbed by all-pervasive affliction, it is not entirely established as the nature of complete purification, so it is established as the second other-powered nature, or so I think. Alternatively, there are two types of other-powered nature due to the difference between complete purity and impurity. The first is the pure mundane dharma obtained by the noble ones from their subsequent attainment, which, appearing as the nature of the apprehended and the apprehender, has the aspect of the three realms, so it is under the power of others. The second is the unreal all-pervasive conception that exists in the minds of children. If asked, how many types of imputed nature are there? If explained in detail, there are countless types, because there are endless conceptualizations, and there are as many imputations by them. In short, there are two types of imputation: imputation on persons and imputation on phenomena, and each of these has two types of imputation: imputation on essence and imputation on difference. If asked, how many types of perfectly established nature are there? It is like the expanse of the sky, because it is of one taste in the nature of the dharmadhatu, so there is not even a slight difference in the ultimate truth. However, for the sake of those who delight in elaboration, there are two types when considering the distinctions of retinue and possession: the permanent and the impermanent perfectly established nature. The first also has two types: the self-existent perfectly established nature and the completely pure perfectly established nature. These are also, in order, the suchness with defilements and the suchness without defilements. The nature of the path that obtains the completely pure perfectly established nature, with its seed and with its object, is the impermanent perfectly established nature, which is the path of complete purification and the object of that path. The first also has two types: cause and effect. The first is the naturally abiding lineage, which is the contaminated [seeds] existing in the alaya.

The seed of non-existence, which has come down through the lineage from beginningless time, is said to be the distinction of the six places obtained by Dharma-nature, and the determination of its nature has already been explained in detail. Why is it included in the Pariniṣpanna? The Mahāyānasaṃgraha states: "Even though the first Bodhisattvas are worldly people, they are included in the Dharma-body, and the Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas are regarded as included in the body of liberation." As it is said, it is not Parikalpita and Paratantra, because it is included in the antidote to all afflictions. Secondly, the path of its fruit is the thirty-seven limbs of enlightenment, and the paths of the three vehicles, such as the six perfections. The object of that path is also included in the Pariniṣpanna, which is included in the twelve scriptures of the holy Dharma, such as the Mahāyāna. Thus, since they are the cause of purification, they are not Parikalpita, nor do they arise from the seed of all afflictions, but are the result of the homogeneous cause of the extremely pure distinction of the Dharma-dhātu, so they are not Paratantra. Alternatively, all of them become four kinds of purity: namely, purity by nature, purity without defilement, purity of attainment, and purity of object. Thus, the meaning of the Aṣṭasāhasrikā is summarized as follows: "Depending on the four kinds of purity, it is shown to be Pariniṣpanna." As it is said. If these are briefly summarized, they become two: the immutable Pariniṣpanna and the non-inverted Pariniṣpanna. Thus, the first two are the immutable Pariniṣpanna, and the latter two are included in the non-inverted Pariniṣpanna. Thus, the Madhyāntavibhāga states: "The immutable and non-inverted, the Pariniṣpanna has two aspects." As it is said. Among these three natures, which is substantially existent and which is nominally existent? The Paratantra is only substantially existent, like the basis of an illusion, otherwise it will become a confusion.
