Moreover, since it arises from the seeds of habitual tendencies of all appearances, it arises in the form of endless aspects such as objects, faculties, and consciousness. In accordance with its own form, it imputes self and the nature of phenomena, as well as various differences, and applies names to them. Therefore, it is the mind-consciousness alone that thoroughly conceptualizes. The nature of other-dependence is the basis to be thoroughly conceptualized by it. For example, the consciousness of the body, the embodied, and the eater is the basis for thoroughly conceptualizing as self, because of grasping the inner aggregates, elements, and sense bases as self, and also because those inner aggregates and so forth are exhausted in just those three consciousnesses. The consciousnesses that are to be closely practiced by it and that closely practice it are the basis for thoroughly conceptualizing as phenomena, because children grasp only the appearance of objects and the objective, and manifestly cling to the grasper and the grasped, and also because the appearance of objects and the objective is exhausted in just those two consciousnesses. Those other-dependent mere consciousnesses grasp the nature of self and phenomena as signs until they are transformed. They manifestly cling to this and that. They apply names. Even though they are not established in this and that, they impute that this and that exist. This is how the mind-consciousness conceptualizes the form of what is thoroughly conceptualized on the other-dependent. What is the nature of the thoroughly established? That other-dependent, non-genuine thorough conceptualization itself, as the nature of the thoroughly conceptualized as described above, is the emptiness that has not been established from the beginning, the nature of the absence of self of phenomena that has become the domain of non-conceptual wisdom. As it is said in that very text: Accomplishment is before that, Whatever is always nonexistent. Thus it is said. Since it does not change in all states, it is thusness. Since it is not inverted, it is the ultimate reality. Since it is the pacification of elaboration, it is signlessness. Since it is the domain of noble wisdom, it is the ultimate truth. By realizing it, one will attain the noble dharmas, it is the cause of all the noble dharmas.

Therefore, it is the Dharmadhatu. Thus, in the Differentiation of the Middle and the Extremes, it is said: "Suchness and the real limit, the signless and the ultimate meaning, are names for the Dharmadhatu. It is not different, not inverted, its cessation is the realm of the noble ones, and it is the cause of the noble Dharma, these four names in order." Thus it is said. Such perfect reality is also of two kinds: the emptiness of no-thingness and the emptiness of the nature of no-thingness. The first is the emptiness of other-dependence, devoid of the self of persons and phenomena, which is the nature of non-affirming negation. The second is the emptiness of other-dependence itself, not established as the nature of the two graspers, which is the nature of non-negation, that is, the nature of the pure consciousness of other-dependence, the mind whose nature is primordially luminous. As it is also said in the Differentiation of the Middle and the Extremes: "The absence of things, persons and phenomena, is emptiness here. The real existence of that which is without things, that is another emptiness in it." Thus it is said. How is the unreal conceptualization other-dependent? And why is it called other-dependent? Because it arises from its own seed as the nature of appearing as two, it is dominated by other conditions. And having arisen, it cannot remain by itself for more than a moment, therefore it is called other-dependent. How are those imputations of self and phenomena conceptualized? And why are they called conceptualized? Because they are objects of the mind's consciousness, conceptualized, with countless aspects, therefore they are conceptualized. Because it is only conceptualized on the absence of its own characteristics, it is called conceptualized. How is emptiness perfectly established? And why is it called perfectly established? Because it does not change, it is perfectly established. Because it is the supreme of all phenomena, it is called perfectly established, because it is the object of purity, and it is the supreme of all virtuous phenomena. If asked how many kinds of other-dependence there are, if explained in detail, there are countless, because all the differences of unreal conceptualization are its differences.
