What is the destruction kalpa? After seven destructions by fire, the water element arising from the second dhyana realm appears. This water element melts the sentient world like salt, and then the water element also disappears together with the sentient world. After disappearing, it remains for twenty intermediate kalpas. What is the destruction by wind? After seven destructions by water, there is one destruction by fire. After that, the wind element arising from the third dhyana realm appears. It makes the sentient world disappear like a body dried by the wind. The wind also disappears together with it. Just as when some people are disturbed by the wind, they can even feel the bones rubbing against each other. After destruction, it also remains for twenty intermediate kalpas. The destruction of the world is like this. What is the formation kalpa? After the twenty intermediate kalpas of the empty kalpa have passed, the formation kalpa begins due to the karma of sentient beings. Among them, when the previous sentient world was destroyed by wind, first the palaces of the third dhyana realm are formed as if manifested in the sky. After that, the palaces of the second dhyana and the first dhyana, etc., up to the Boundless Space, are formed in ascending order. Then, sentient beings of the fourth dhyana die, their lifespan, merit, and karma exhausted, and are reborn in the third dhyana. Similarly, it also applies to the lower dhyanas. When the previous sentient world was destroyed by water, it is formed in ascending order from the second dhyana. When destroyed by fire, it is said to be formed from the first dhyana. When destroyed by fire, sentient beings of the second dhyana die, their lifespan, merit, and karma exhausted, and are reborn in the first dhyana. There, he becomes the Great Brahma among the Brahmas. He feels lonely and unhappy alone, thinking, 'How wonderful it would be if other sentient beings could also be born here.' So he generates such a wish. Other sentient beings whose lifespan, merit, and karma are exhausted also die from the second dhyana and are reborn there. Thus, up to Abhasvara

It should also be known that the hosts of gods will also form. Below that, the vessel of the Thirty-three (Heavens) and below will form in descending order, as follows: First, a great wheel of wind will arise, equivalent in size to the three-thousand great thousand worlds. It also has two aspects: that which abides as the lower foundation and that which abides as wisdom. Those waters will not pour directly, nor will they drip downwards. Above that, due to the power of the karma of sentient beings, clouds with the essence of gold will arise. From that, rain will fall, and that great wheel of water also depends on the wheel of wind. Then, that water itself is compressed and solidified by the wind, from which the great earth wheel called the golden ground is formed. Others (in scriptures) say: the depth of the water is eleven hundred million, and the thousands are twenty. Later, the depth is eight hundred million, and the remainder will turn into gold. And, the wheel of water and gold, in the vertical direction, is twelve hundred million, the thousands are three hundred, and the hundreds are half and five. The depth and breadth of the two wheels of water and gold, as described here, is the view that each of the four continents has one wheel of water and one of gold. Here, considering that all the hundred billion four continents have only four wheels of water and gold, the dimensions of depth and circumference cannot be measured. Therefore, the dimensions were not stated. However, like the wheel of wind, its size is equivalent to the three-thousand great thousand worlds. Above that earth wheel, clouds with the essence of various elements will also arise due to karma, and from them rain will fall. Those waters will also remain on the golden ground, and they are also compressed and solidified by the winds. Having been compressed in that way, from the good, the best, the principal, and the abundant elements, Mount Meru will arise, which has the nature of the four precious substances: gold, silver, crystal, and lapis lazuli. Among them, those intermediate elements will form golden mountains, such as Yoke-Holder Mountain, Elephant-Nose Mountain, Horse-Ear Mountain, and Fair-to-See Mountain.
