It is said that all those names are not fully seen, and because they are not fully seen, there is no attachment. If one does not see names as they truly are, there will be no attachment to names. The non-conceptualization that is content with being skilled in non-conceptualization is that of ordinary beings. Because they ascertain of some phenomena such as impermanence, "This is such and such," and having obtained complete satisfaction, they sever all conceptualizations towards higher states. The non-perverted non-conceptualization is that of the Hearers (Śrāvakas). Because they, as an antidote to the perversion of permanence, etc., in the aggregates, contemplate form, etc., as mere phenomena, and realize selflessness through transcendental wisdom. The non-elaborate non-conceptualization is that of Bodhisattvas. Because they recognize that form, etc., are mere phenomena and also elaboration, thereby destroying the characteristics of all phenomena, and through transcendental wisdom, they focus on Suchness (Tathatā) with supreme peace. Why is it called non-elaborate non-conceptualization? Because it cannot be shown through affirmation, like showing form to a blind person, it is shown through negation. It is not non-conceptualization because there is no attention. If so, then even in states such as sleep and drunkenness, since there is no attention to the characteristics of phenomena, it would also become non-conceptualization, which is too extreme. It is not because it has completely transcended conceptual thought. If so, then all the second dhyana, etc., would also become non-conceptualization. It is not because the activity of mind and mental factors is completely pacified. If so, then the cessation of perception and feeling would also become that. It is not because of the nature of non-conceptualization itself. If so, then form, etc., would also become that. It is not because of intense adherence to the object of focus. If so, then even conceptualization would become that. Therefore, do not view non-conceptualization itself in those ways, but rather as the object of true wisdom, without attachment or manifestation towards Suchness.
