Abandoning afflictions such as harm, displeasure, attachment, and hatred. By abiding in these, one abides with loving-kindness towards all sentient beings, and in order to accord with the benefit of sentient beings, one perfects the accumulation of merit. With loving-kindness towards sentient beings, one does not regard oneself, and therefore one is not weary of maturing sentient beings. The activities of liberation are: the first two manifest the activity of emanation. The third does not become afflicted by emanating beautiful or ugly forms. Then the four do not cling to peaceful liberation. The eighth abides in the supreme abode of the noble ones, the abode where perception and feeling are completely pacified. The conquerors dominate by suppressing the object of nature through the gate of non-appearance, and therefore control the object of the three liberations of form. The exhausters exhaust the earth and so on, that is, they expand and pervade without remainder, and therefore accomplish the objects of liberation as desired. Being without affliction, it becomes a word worthy of being held, and because one cherishes the minds of others, one speaks as is appropriate. Knowing through thought, one is revered by many in the world, and by prophesying the future, etc., one is respectfully called omniscient. By explaining with individual perfect knowledge, one satisfies the minds of sentient beings, because one cuts off doubts in many ways. The supernormal powers and so on, the manifest knowledges, in order, show the activities of the body and so on, and make desires and so on and exhort. The signs and marks immediately cause the great person or the supreme to have faith upon seeing them. Therefore, one makes intention and harmony towards that. The completely pure abodes have the power to take, dwell, and completely abandon abodes as desired, and therefore hold the three, such as taking birth in existence. Likewise, with the object, one controls the Dharma, with the mind, one controls Samadhi, and with completely pure wisdom, one correctly holds the sacred Dharma. In the activities of the powers, the first two show the path of higher realms, the first speaks of the unfavorable causes of higher realms, such as causelessness, nature, and autonomy, and the second speaks of non-self-made.

In order to eliminate the saying that one encounters the maturation of karma, and to correctly and unerringly show the path to a good rebirth. The remaining ones certainly show the good path: the third is to subsequently understand the actions of sentient beings' minds, the fourth is to understand that the faculties such as faith of the vessel (i.e., the listener) for the teachings are fully matured, the fifth is to understand the thoughts such as the liking for bad and good, the sixth is to understand the latent tendencies that can generate afflictions, the seventh is to understand the object of the Dharma that is included in the afflictions by the Mahayana, the eighth is to understand that the perfect accumulation of merit in the previous life is the cause of the noble path, the ninth is to understand what is suitable for the future life, and the tenth is to subsequently understand the path of certain liberation from all samsara, thereby truly showing the path to liberation. Why is it called power? Because these can subdue all four maras, including the mara of the aggregates. The special feature is that having abandoned the obscuration of knowledge, it does not create obstacles, and after asking questions in all ten powers, one can also answer the questions without hindrance. The fearlessness is that, within the retinue, one truly establishes the teacher who has entered for the benefit of oneself and others. From the attainment of perfect enlightenment to the path of certain liberation, one can also subdue other non-Buddhist opponents in a way that is in accordance with the Dharma. The four mindfulnesses are because there is no attachment to listening respectfully, etc., and no afflictions arise, so they are not afflicted, and thus they can completely gather the retinue. The unguarding is because one is afraid of speaking of one's own faults, so there is no guarding, and thus one can continuously admonish. The non-forgetfulness is because one is not negligent even for a moment in the work of benefiting sentient beings, and one does not hold it as contradictory, so one does not abandon the work of the Buddha. The habits are well destroyed because there are no afflictions and no obscuration of knowledge, so one does not show bodily and verbal actions as if one had afflictions. Great compassion is because one individually observes in the manner of "who declines, who increases," so one individually observes the world six times day and night. The unmixed Dharmas are because
