Even with faith, the cause may not necessarily arise. There, the intent of saying that all dharmas are without inherent existence, etc. There, for the Dharma, there are the benefits of samadhi. That is a cause worthy of offering. The first point is: Why is it that in other sutras, the extremely extensive is called the Bodhisattva's Paramita Pitaka? Because there, the six paramitas to be practiced by the Bodhisattvas are explained through ten ways, such as the determination of number. Regarding this, there are two types of numbers: countable numbers and just that number. Among them, what is called the six paramitas is the countable number. The Bodhisattva path, manifest with higher realms and definite goodness, possessing all aspects, is summarized by two threes, therefore there are six paramitas, neither too many nor too few, which is just that number. Higher realms are three: great wealth, great autonomy, and vast aspects, which are accomplished in order by the three paramitas of generosity, discipline, and patience. Thus, generosity brings great wealth, discipline brings a perfect body in the good realms, and patience enables all beings to be respected and gain precedence. The path of definite goodness is also three: the method of subduing afflictions and engaging in virtue, the method of fully maturing sentient beings, and the method of truly accomplishing the Buddha's Dharma. If any of these are lacking, the definite goodness of the Bodhisattva cannot be accomplished, therefore these are accomplished in order by the paramitas of diligence, meditation, and wisdom. Among them, the method of maturing sentient beings is meditation, because relying on meditation, sentient beings are matured through clairvoyance, etc. Furthermore, in the method of non-abiding nirvana, it is also determined to be the six perfections, that is, the Bodhisattva does not abide in nirvana, but rather returns from nirvana to maintain higher realms in samsara. Returning from abiding in samsara, one should be without afflictions there. Therefore, the first three are the methods of higher realms, and the latter three are the methods of being without afflictions. The antidote to diligence is practice, meditation subdues afflictions, and wisdom

This is to completely destroy habitual tendencies. Furthermore, it is also determined to be the six perfections in order to gather sentient beings and to counteract afflictions. Giving, the Bodhisattva benefits sentient beings by means of accomplishing resources, thereby gathering them. Morality, by means of not causing poverty, harm, and various kinds of injury, gathers them. In sequence, it does not harm enjoyment, body, and mind. Patience, by not caring about poverty and harm, gathers them. The latter three counteract afflictions, as previously explained. Showing the characteristics is: The perfection of giving is the activity of the three doors of body, speech, and mind of a Bodhisattva abiding in the lineage, relying on the mind of enlightenment, with a mind led by compassion, completely giving away all possessions. Similarly, add up to wisdom, this is the distinction. For morality, it is to correctly take all vows and to guard against incompatible aspects. For patience, it is to not care about harmers and suffering and to accept it. For diligence, it is the activity of the three doors of correctly accomplishing virtuous Dharma. For meditation, it is the abiding of the mind that is master of all activities of the three doors. For wisdom, it is to thoroughly distinguish the Dharma that is master of all activities of the three doors. Furthermore, giving begins with omniscience, and transforms into that, and completely holds that, and does the work of that, that is the perfection of giving. Those four words should be understood in sequence as creation, habit, body, and similar cause, because all giving that arises and will arise from omniscience is completely dedicated to that. That giving instills habit in the continuum, because from that it will transform into omniscience. When that is completely perfected, it completely holds omniscience in the manner of the complete accomplishment of the Dharmakaya. After that, the Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya become omniscient in the manner of a similar cause.
