As it is. There are four types of meditation that dwell on the aggregates. Dwelling on the cause is to diligently familiarize oneself with the perfections through the power of lineage. Dwelling on the ripening is through the power of having a complete body. Dwelling on aspiration is through the power of aspiration. Dwelling on the power of individual examination is to diligently familiarize oneself with the perfections through the power of wisdom. There are four types of meditation that dwell on attention. Meditating with faith and attention is to meditate with faith in the sutras that possess all the perfections. Meditating with savoring attention is to savor the qualities of those who have attained the perfections by seeing their virtues. Meditating with rejoicing attention is to rejoice in the generosity and so on of all sentient beings in the world. Meditating with manifest joy and attention is to rejoice in the distinctions of one's own and others' future perfections. There are six types of meditation that dwell on intention: the intention of non-contentment, the intention of vastness, the intention of joy, the intention of benefiting, the intention of non-attachment, and the intention of virtue. Among these, a Bodhisattva's non-contentment with generosity is like filling realms equal to the sands of the Ganges with the seven precious things in each moment for kalpas equal to the sands of the Ganges, and giving to each and every sentient being after emanating as many bodies as there are, yet still not being content. This is non-contentment with generosity. Until sitting at the seat of enlightenment, continuously making such generosity without interruption for even a moment is the vast intention of generosity. The Bodhisattva who gives in this way rejoices, but the sentient beings who receive the generosity do not rejoice as much. This is the intention of joy. The Bodhisattva thinks that the sentient beings who are the objects of generosity have greatly benefited me, but the sentient beings do not think that the Bodhisattva has benefited them as much. This is the intention of benefiting. Not expecting a return or ripening for such merit that comes from generosity is the intention of non-attachment.

Such merit arising from generosity is also shared with all sentient beings and dedicated to perfect enlightenment; this is a virtuous intention. Furthermore, a Bodhisattva, in as many eons as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, transforms into as many bodies, and continuously offers all necessities. When the three thousandfold universe is filled with fire, they engage in the four modes of conduct, and in each moment, they practice from discipline to wisdom, yet they are not satisfied. This is being unsatisfied with the five perfections, such as discipline. Their vast mind and so on are as before. The detailed explanation is that each has three aspects: The three types of generosity are the generosity of Dharma, material generosity, and fearlessness. The three types of discipline are the discipline of vows, the discipline of virtue, and the discipline of benefiting sentient beings. The three types of patience are not minding harm, accepting suffering, and having certainty in the Dharma. The three types of diligence are armor-like diligence, diligence in accumulating virtue, and diligence in benefiting sentient beings. The three types of meditative concentration are the qualities of dwelling in bliss in this very life, and the meditative concentration of benefiting sentient beings that is manifestly accomplished. The three types of wisdom are wisdom that focuses on the conventional truth, wisdom that focuses on the ultimate truth, and wisdom that focuses on benefiting sentient beings. The condensed teaching is: all virtuous Dharmas are contained within these six, and these six are also contained within those Dharmas, because their characteristic is faith and so on, which are in accordance with it, and the ten powers and so on are the result of those Dharmas. The teaching on the opposing side is: miserliness, immoral discipline, anger, laziness, distraction, and immoral wisdom encompass all defilements. The teaching on the praise of qualities is: wealth, happy migrations, having many attendants, accomplishing the end of actions, having little harm, and being skilled in all fields of knowledge, etc., are without fault and, until reaching enlightenment, remain close to performing the benefit of all beings. The teaching on determining one thing in relation to another has three aspects: that which arises from practice, that which arises from detailed distinctions, and that which arises from teaching after detailed separation. The first is that each perfection is practiced with the complete fulfillment of all six perfections.
