There is also no shamelessness, because there is no unwholesome. Because one does not commit sins, there is also no concealment after doing them. Because one does not fully enjoy resources, there is also no stinginess. Because it is very contrary to samadhi, there is also no regret and sleep. Or because there is no unpleasantness, there is no regret. Because there are no causes of sleep such as coarse food and physical fatigue, there is no sleep. In the first dhyana, there is pervasive grasping of samsara, so there is deceit and cause to tempt it, but there is none above the second dhyana, so it is said. Regarding the analysis of the upper realms, this teacher did not explain in detail, so it is said to abide according to the explanation of the Abhidharmakosha. Above the second dhyana, it is absent in the way of being withdrawn from vitarka and vicara, but it is not absent in the way of universal arising, because there are verbal expressions and so on. Among these mental factors, which are substantially existent and which are nominally existent? The five omnipresent are only substantially existent, because the nature of these is not mixed with other mental factors, but exists independently. The five object-determinations are also substantially existent. Among the virtuous qualities such as faith, mindfulness, equanimity, non-harming, and non-ignorance are nominally existent, and the rest are substantially existent. Among the afflictions, view is a part of wisdom, so it is only nominally existent, and the rest are all substantially existent. The near afflictions are part of the afflictions, so they are only nominally existent, and those that change are also part of mind and wisdom, so they are nominally existent. Now I will explain the individual characteristics of the mental factors. Among them, the first of the six categories, wanting to show the three omnipresent, so he said what is mind, etc. Each of these should be understood by two characteristics and two functions. Mind initiates action, just as the power of a magnet moves iron, by what does it move the mind towards the object? As it is said: "A moment does not stay different, without distinction, by what is the mind? Like acting and appearing together, the mind is that mind."

It is like saying that. The so-called "action of mind" is because other mental factors also cause the mind to manifest, therefore it is said to distinguish it from others. Just as consciousness universally moves, that which can cause movement is the mind, and not others. It is to know this reason. The function is to make the mind enter into the actions of virtue and so on, because of the action of the mind, the mind will move on that and that object. The nature of attention is the entry of the mind, that is, by what means the mind is clearly directed towards the object. The function is the action of holding the object by the mind, which means that for that object, the mind's continuity continues constantly. This function, the sutra says, "Obtaining attention is obtaining samadhi," this is an example. Therefore, special attention refers to the action of behavior corresponding to samadhi, not all attention, because other attention only causes the mind to focus on the object moment by moment. The nature of touch is when the three, object, sense, and consciousness, gather as the entity of cause and effect, by what means to completely determine the feeling of pleasure and so on similar to the change of the sense, and the appearance of the object that conforms to it later. The change of the sense is the difference of the sense that conforms to the arising of pleasure and pain and so on. Its function is to act as the basis for the arising of feeling, that is, the three, object, sense, and consciousness, gather, and after completely determining the three objects of lovable, unlovable, and neutral, the three kinds of feelings of joy, sorrow, and equanimity naturally arise. As the sutra says: "Relying on the touch that feels happiness, the feeling of happiness arises." Because now is the time to explain each object, that's why it is said, "What is desire?" Among them, the nature of desire is, by what means the desired things, such as watching and listening, etc., correspond to watching, etc., wanting to do and pursue its meaning.
