It will become known from analysis. If analyzed one by one, it would become extensive, so I am unwilling. If only a brief indication is given, then without realization of the desired object, there is no memory of it. Without a definite certainty of "What is this?", there is also no aspiration. Without contemplation on a previously experienced object, there is also no memory of the speech about it. Without separately distinguishing faults and virtues, there is no concentration and wisdom focused on an object to be examined as having faults and having virtues. Therefore, it is certain that the ascertainments of each object are of the nature of contemplation and measurement. Virtues such as faith are also of the nature of certainty, because they are the antidote to perverse cognitions such as lack of faith. If these, such as faith, do not definitely ascertain the perverse side with the grasping of non-faith, etc., then since these and those modes of grasping are not contradictory, what contradiction is there in arising simultaneously in one continuum? Even if they arise simultaneously with afflictions such as non-faith, how are these, such as faith, designated as virtues? Therefore, virtues such as faith are also of the nature of certainty. Afflictions such as attachment and near-afflictions, if they are not of the nature of contemplation, measurement, and certainty of the reversed side of the grasping of their own antidotes, how can they obstruct the arising of their own antidotes? Furthermore, afflictions and near-afflictions are also of the nature of contemplation and measurement because they enter perversely into objects, views, and truths in various ways. If that is the case, how do the five aggregates of consciousness become virtuous and non-virtuous in association? Because they do not associate with virtuous and non-virtuous mental factors. It is said that the sense consciousnesses become virtuous and afflicted, not because of the association of similar cognition, but because of the association of simultaneous arising. Among them, the association of similar cognition is the association of the five associates with the mind as previously stated.
