It is called neutral feeling. Just like the feeling arising from the contact of the eye, in order to illustrate that all three, such as pleasure, can occur in one feeling, it is said "it is also possible" for each word. Regarding the classification of locations, the classification of locations with form is: pleasure is of the body, it is also possible, and so on. The classification of formless locations is: pleasure is of the mind, it is also possible, and so on, that is to say, each of the three feelings of pleasure, pain, and neutrality mentioned earlier has a location, and from the distinction of not being with form, there are two kinds of feelings: bodily feeling and mental feeling. From the classification of affliction and purification, there are also two kinds. First, from the perspective of abandoning and counteracting attachment to the perishable collection: pleasure is with contamination, it is also possible, to neither suffering nor pleasure is without contamination, it is also possible. Each of the feelings such as pleasure is bound by self-grasping, and is to be destroyed by the path of transcendence, having contamination, and being without self-grasping, having no contamination, these two meanings exist. From the perspective of detachment from clinging: pleasure is clinging and dependent, it is also possible, to neither suffering nor pleasure is clinging and dependent, it is also possible. Each of pleasure and so on is clinging and dependent, bound by craving for the qualities of desire, and the feeling of manifestation dependent on being free from such craving, these two exist. Relying on body and mind, it is not only feeling, but also other things that arise from the mind, isn't it? Why should feeling alone be divided into two kinds, bodily and mental feeling? It is true, but feelings can benefit and harm their own location, while other mental states and mental events do not cause benefit or harm. Therefore, any feeling that benefits or harms its own location, including the senses, is called bodily feeling. The feeling that benefits or harms the mind is called mental feeling. In that case, why does neutral feeling become bodily and mental feeling? Because it does not cause any benefit or harm to them. This is because it is of that kind, so it is established that way.

So, besides feeling, do other minds and mental phenomena also have both defiled and undefiled, clinging-support and manifestation-support? Why is such a distinction made only on feeling? In response to this, it is not that other minds and mental phenomena do not have defiled and undefiled, etc., because in terms of detailed distinctions, all aggregates, elements, and sources can be divided into these two categories. However, here, among minds and mental phenomena, feeling is the main cause for establishing defilement and clinging-support. Therefore, any feeling that causes defilement and clinging-support is called defiled and clinging-supporting feeling; any feeling that does not cause these is established as undefiled and manifestation-supporting feeling. What are the phenomena established as defilement and clinging-support? And how is feeling said to be the main cause of these phenomena? The answer is: Any craving that has the nature of desire and attachment to the aggregates of appropriation is the phenomenon established as defilement, because whatever is related to it is called defilement. Any craving that has the nature of desire and attachment to the qualities of desire is the phenomenon established as clinging-support, because whatever possesses this craving is called clinging-support. These cravings actually arise from feeling, because craving arises from the condition of feeling associated with ignorance. When explaining "pleasant feeling is of the body," etc., what is the nature of what is called bodily feeling? It refers to the feelings that correspond to the five aggregates of sense consciousness, because these feelings benefit or harm their own place, the body related to the senses, and therefore are called bodily feelings. Then, are the other four senses, such as the ear, also called body? Or why are the feelings of these senses called bodily feelings? Because the other senses, such as the eye, are not considered different from the body's senses, and are obstructive.
