Since the element of wind cannot turn into dust, it is said that movement, which is characterized by the continuous flow of tangible objects arising and moving to other places. Movement is action, not essence. Because there is concern that the essence is not shown, lightness is mentioned. Thus, lightness, which possesses the action of movement, is the meaning of the element of wind itself. Secondly, explaining the resultant form is also divided into two. The brief indication is: What is said to be the form made by cause, if asked how many aspects it has and what its essence is, then the eye faculty and so on are mentioned. Among them, "one aspect of tangible objects" means holding onto future tangible objects, because it is that time, and also because the tangible objects of arising have already been explained. If a certain form is only the object of mental consciousness and does not perform any action on any other mind and mental factors, then that is the form included in the sphere of phenomena. It should not be said that the form that is only the object of mental consciousness is the form included in the sphere of phenomena, because then the eye faculty and so on would also have faults. Explaining it in detail is divided into three: the initial form, the initial apprehended form, and the form of the object of mind. The first is: If asked what the eye faculty and so on are, this is a question. The four great elements are the cause, the basis of eye consciousness, and the initial form. These and so on are mentioned, and these faculties are also explained individually from the aspects of cause, effect, and self-nature. Among them, "the four great elements are the cause" is to represent the resultant form from the perspective of cause. This is to eliminate other schools that believe that the faculties arise without cause, or that they arise from incompatible causes such as the chief and the lord, and to eliminate the self-enlightened Buddhas and heavenly beings who say that the faculties are only arising. The so-called basis of eye consciousness is to distinguish it from other faculties from the perspective of its own unique self-fruit, because other faculties do not have the power to act as the basis of eye consciousness.

So it is. (Tibetan: གཟུགས་དང་བའོ་), "form and co-arising" refers to the manifestation of the self-nature of the senses. Here, the meaning of "co-arising" is, for example, the image that appears based on form, when it appears in water and mirrors, the term "co-arising" is used to refer to them. Similarly, based on objects such as form and sound, the consciousness of the senses that appears in them, such as the doors of the eye and other senses, arise in their respective doors, hence they are called "co-arising." For other senses such as the ear, it should also be explained according to their respective situations, which is easy to understand. The other four senses, such as the eye, are limited by their respective supports, so they only exist in their respective supports, and are not pervasive throughout the body. The sense of body, however, is pervasive throughout the elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, and the forms created by the four elements, from the toes to the crown of the head, as the place where sensations arise. Here, the Yogacara school believes that the senses such as the eye and the objects such as form are divided into two types due to the difference between parikalpita and paratantra. Among them, here and in the view of the Yogacara school, the senses are said to be with form and with intervals, which is from the perspective of parikalpita. This is also to introduce the mundane, following the mundane saying. When it is pointed out that these are not truly established, in order to avoid baseless errors, and to point out the root of these errors, the nature of parikalpita, which is not the true paratantra, that is, the discriminating senses such as the eye, are shown. That is to say, if the alaya-vijñana is established, then it is established as the object of the alaya-vijñana. Thus, what arises from the maturation of the non-common seeds existing in the alaya-vijñana, and appears as the five senses such as the eye in one's own and others' continuums, is established as the senses. If the alaya-vijñana is not established, then what the eye-consciousness and others are able to generate the ability to grasp their respective non-common objects such as form and sound, is its own immediate condition, that is, the difference in the power of the previous consciousness, which is called the senses such as the eye.
