Now, let's briefly discuss these established ways. The Blessed One, in sutras such as the Abhidharma, speaks of the elements such as earth, water, fire, and wind, as well as things made from these elements, the inner sense bases such as the eye, and the outer sense bases such as form. The Vaibhashikas and Sautrantikas consider this to be the ultimate truth, and therefore establish external objects such as form as truly existent. That is to say, form is both the atom and the collection of atoms. The atom is the smallest unit of form, without any directional parts such as east, because otherwise it could be further divided, and then it would not be an atom. Moreover, what is established after the mind analyzes colored objects is not an imputed nature, but a truly existent nature that abides in reality. If the atom were not truly existent, then the form, sound, and other phenomena composed of it would also become imputed natures, like the parts of an imputed object as described by the Vaisheshikas. If that were the case, the sense consciousnesses such as the eye would also become false because they have false objects, which would be too extreme. That is what they think. If the atom, which has no parts or shape, how can mountains and other things with directions and shapes arise from it? In response, the Vaisheshikas believe that from the aggregation of indivisible atoms of the four great elements, a quality called "conjunction" arises, which is a different entity. From this, coarse, composite objects with characteristics such as visibility arise. Most Tibetan scholars also agree with this view, because they acknowledge that coarse phenomena such as form and sound, which are objects of sense consciousness, are self-characterized, apart from atoms. On this point, the Vaibhashikas believe that when the central atom is surrounded by atoms in six directions, they do not touch each other. Otherwise, since the atom has no parts, touching one part would mean touching the whole, so the first and second atoms would mix in the same location. In this way, no matter how many atoms gather together,

Because the first atom would not become larger and larger. Or, the minute atom will become with directional parts, because when the eastern atom touches the directional part of the central atom, the other atoms in other directions will not touch it, just like the eastern atom, the atoms in other directions will also touch the other directional parts of the central atom. Therefore, the surrounding of the minute atom is with intervals, and it is held by the holding wind, so they will not separate from each other. As it is said in the 'Achievement of External Objects': From different directions, many, only surround something, it is said that the atom is not the nature of having parts. As it is said. Like this, the surrounding of the minute atom is with intervals, and it can also be called the collection of aggregates. Because they each in their own way, through place and object, become the cause of the sense consciousnesses, so they are also called the ten sense bases of form. Therefore, it is also said in the sutra: The five aggregates of consciousness are based on aggregates. And, the ten bases are the aggregates of minute atoms, I think so. The bases of form, etc., which are the nature of aggregates, are also only in contact with each other in places where the atoms are of the same kind and suitable, so apart from the atoms, the so-called coarse nature is not established. And in order to generate self-grasping consciousness and other functions, it is not without substance either. As it is said in the 'Achievement of External Objects': Which atoms touch each other, are of the same kind and do the same thing, then if it is said to be an aggregate, how can it be without substance? As it is declared. Just like a yak's tail, the forms, etc., that exist separately without mixing, the sense consciousnesses will hold them as they are, so the sense consciousnesses hold the minute atoms. And the subsequent determination, because it cannot determine the difference like the object of the root consciousness, it will completely determine the nature of the bases of form, sound, etc. Therefore, it is also said in the 'Achievement of External Objects': The discriminating consciousness will determine it as one.
