Now, through the food of contact that completely cuts off what comes, the senses of the eater are satisfied. How is that known? If, at the time of enjoyment, the act of morsel food is performed, then the form element will also become morsel food. Thus, when the elements of smell, taste, and touch are enjoyed by their respective senses, just as the senses of the eater are satisfied in a pleasing way, even when seeing the form of good morsel food, it performs the act of satisfying the senses. If, when those who have not separated from desire for morsel food see the form of morsel food, the satisfaction of the senses is the food born of contact, not morsel food. Because even if those who have separated from desire for morsel food see the form of food, they do not satisfy the senses. And, when morsel food is enjoyed, the form of morsel food has passed beyond the realm of its own senses, so it does not benefit it, so it is not morsel food, others say. To this it should be said, when seeing the form of morsel food, it satisfies the senses of those who have not separated from desire, but it does not satisfy the senses of those who have separated from desire, what reason is there for saying this? If it is thought that when those who have not separated from desire see the form of morsel food, they completely regard it as a pleasing image through desire, but when those who have separated from desire see it, because they have separated from desire, they do not completely regard it as a pleasing image, therefore there is a difference between the satisfaction and non-satisfaction of their senses. If you think like that, then the three elements of smell, taste, and touch, when enjoyed by their respective senses, whatever satisfies the senses of the eater is the food born of contact, not morsel food. Because they are also those who have not separated from desire for morsel food, when they enjoy it with their respective senses, they completely regard it as a pleasing image, but those who have separated from desire for morsel food do not completely regard it in that way. If those who have separated from desire, towards the elements of smell, taste, and touch, with a mind of desire

Although the state of coming is not completely cut off, due to the power of the object, a touch that experiences pleasure arises, and from that, a feeling of pleasure arises, and the power of the feeling of pleasure makes the senses feel satisfied. If that is the case, then for those who are free from desire, when they see the form of a mouthful of food, because the power of the object will produce a touch that experiences pleasure, will that also become a mouthful of food? If so, when enjoying, it is acting as a mouthful of food, then the source of form cannot avoid being a mouthful of food. Therefore, it remains that only when digesting is it a mouthful of food. Therefore, when eating any mouthful of food, the senses are satisfied because of pleasantness, which comes from the door of the form of touch, but it is not a mouthful of food. After eating it, when digesting, if it closely combines with the senses that have a basis to benefit them, then it should be said that it is a mouthful of food when digesting. If it does not benefit the senses when digesting, then it is not food at that time. Also, when eating any mouthful of food, because it is unpleasant, it does not make the senses of the eater feel satisfied, then it is not any food at that time. If it makes the senses with a basis grow when digesting, then it is a mouthful of food when digesting. If it does not help the senses when digesting, then it is not food at that time either. Therefore, any mouthful of food, when enjoying, is doing the function of the object of touch food, and there are also those that become a mouthful of food when digesting. There are also those that are the opposite of this. There are also those that are both, and there are also those that are neither. Is whatever is a mouthful of food also food? Is whatever is food also a mouthful of food? If asked in this way, it should be said in four categories. Among them, what is a mouthful of food but not food is: the source of smell, taste, and touch, which does not benefit the senses and the four great elements on which they depend when digesting. There are also those that are food but not a mouthful of food: touch and attention, and consciousness, all of which cause the senses with a basis to grow. There are also those that are both: any mouthful of food that causes the senses with a basis to grow when digesting. There are also those that are neither: touch, attention, and consciousness, all of which do not cause the senses with a basis to grow.
