The terms right and wrong, as mentioned before, are referred to as objects of terminology because of their great benefits and faults. The objects of the remaining three senses, because they can only be perceived after being contacted by their respective senses, there is no distinction between realization and non-realization for yogis and ordinary people. Therefore, whether their objects are right or wrong terms, because the benefits and faults are small, they are not referred to as objects of terminology. In short, regarding the meaning of "realization." In order to eliminate the saying of the Vaibhashikas that the three of smell, taste, and touch are unrecordable, because their power is weak, they are collectively called realization. Here, the meaning of "realization" is said to be distinction, because the consciousness of the nose, tongue, and body can distinguish. In this way, the objects of the terms right and wrong become two, namely the objects of sensory consciousness and mental consciousness. The first, initially, is two kinds. The second also has two kinds of objects: the consciousness of hearing and thinking, and the consciousness arising from meditation, which are also the meanings of distinction and complete understanding in sequence. Among the various objects of mental consciousness, only the objects understood through the three ways of hearing, thinking, and meditation are said to be the objects of terminology, because having and not having the correct three consciousnesses of hearing, thinking, and meditation can distinguish people into special and ordinary, therefore, the right and wrong terms possessed by their objects are also because of the great benefits and faults. The fourth question is about the characteristics of the aggregate of formation, namely "all formations" and so on. The word "all" indicates that there are many. The brief answer is "the characteristic of manifest action." If you ask what to do, to what object, with what, and how to act? The detailed explanation is to introduce "entering" and so on. The objects are good dharmas such as faith, non-good dharmas such as greed, and the unrecordable that is neither of the two, and various situations such as happiness and suffering. What is to be done is the mind that merely recognizes the nature of these objects. The tool for doing things is the essence of the mind that the mind manifests and acts on the object. Is there no formation other than the mind? Why does the mind manifest

If it is said that only attention is established as the maker, it is not so. It is established for two necessities. For example, for the agent who engages in virtuous and non-virtuous actions, it is to dispel the doubt of having a self, and among all the pervasively afflicted and purified dharmas, it is to show that the nature of mind is the main one. Although other mental factors also make the mind manifest and active, only mind is established there because it is the main one. Because making the mind move towards the object is the unique function of the mind, and the very movement of the mind towards the object is the meaning of the mind manifesting and acting. Other mental factors do not make the mind move towards the object, because they each have their own unique function different from that, and if it is thought that the mind cannot be distinguished from other mental factors in terms of function, then there will be a fault. If it is said that in making the mind move towards the object, the object, sense faculty, and attention, etc., are also not the main ones? How is it that only mind is the main one? For example, if there is a magnet, then the iron, etc., that are compatible with it will move involuntarily. Similarly, if there is mind, then the co-emergent mind that is in accordance with it will undoubtedly move towards the object and become manifest. However, the mind does not move towards the object merely by relying on the object, sense faculty, and attention, etc., as proximate causes. Because sometimes even if these are apprehended, it is seen that the mind does not arise. Furthermore, the object and sense faculty, etc., are merely a means of causing the mind that has not arisen to arise, so they act on the future mind; while manifesting and acting is making the mind that has already arisen turn towards the object, so it acts on the present mind. Therefore, the object and sense faculty, etc., are also not suitable as causes for the mind to manifest and act. If the mind moving towards the object is the meaning of the mind manifesting and acting, and this is solely the function of the mind, then since other mental factors do not possess this characteristic, wouldn't they become non-makers? There is no fault, because although other mental factors cannot independently make the mind move towards the object, they can accomplish this function by acting as companions of the mind. Non-associated formations do not possess the characteristic of the mind manifesting and acting, but they are also formations.
