Also, because attachment is seen. As it is said: If the view of "I" does not exist, no one will be attached to me. As it is said. Therefore, attachment to self also exists. If there is a view of self, the thought of "I" naturally arises, because without the thought of "I," one does not see attachment to anything as self. Therefore, pride also exists. The Lord of Reasoning believes that the view of self, the thought of "I," and ignorance of self are the same in meaning, and that attachment to self arises from these. As it is said: All faults have this as their root, which is the view of the perishable aggregate. This is ignorance, and attachment arises to it. And, wishing not to become happy or suffer, whatever thought of "I" arises, arises together with sentient beings. As it is said. Thus, the five common and four uncommon companions, in total, are definitely these nine mental factors. The five object-determinations do not arise, such as desire, which has three aspects: seeking meaning, wanting to meet, and wanting not to be separated. Among these, the first is not possible, because it focuses on a distant object, while the mind focuses on a near object. Because it appears as not being separated, it is also not the desire to meet, nor is it the desire not to be separated, because that involves the doubt of separation, which the mind does not have. Aspiration also does not arise, because the nature of aspiration is certainty, which is preceded by the cessation of doubt, while the mind always engages in one entity, so doubt is impossible. Memory is also not, because it focuses on an object previously experienced, while the mind focuses on a substance that did not exist before. Samadhi is also not, because if the mind was previously distracted, and later the mind is placed equally on one object of focus, then there is samadhi, but the mind is not like that, because there is no alternating placement on the object of focus, but it always engages in one entity. There is also no wisdom other than the view of self, because the nature of the two wisdoms does not possess the same qualities. Among the afflictions, doubt and wrong view are both conceptually constructed, while the mind is innate.

Therefore, (it) does not exist. Afflictions such as anger are purely unwholesome in the desire realm, while mind is defiled and neutral in all three realms, therefore, (mind) is not associated with them. Sleep and regret do not exist in the higher realms, so they are not associated. Conceptualization and analysis themselves can trigger language, so they are outwardly directed; while mind is inwardly directed, so they are not associated. The mind with these characteristics as described above, except for three situations, will follow in all states of generosity and other virtuous deeds, killing and other unwholesome deeds, and patience and conduct and other neutral states, because there is no cause to stop the mind in these states. So, where does the mind stop? It stops in three situations. For example, when the path beyond the world is manifested, the mind does not arise, because as an antidote to the view of self, it is contradictory to exist simultaneously with the view of self. It is also the same when entering cessation meditation. Cessation meditation is more superior than the meditation of non-perception because it blocks the afflicted mind. These are the times when the mind temporarily stops, because after emerging from the noble path and samadhi, it will arise again from the seed of the view of self that exists in the alaya consciousness. The mind does not arise after attaining the vajra-like samadhi of the no-more-learning stage and after attaining the eighth ground of the Great Vehicle, because in these states, all the seeds of affliction have been eliminated. This is the time when the mind ultimately stops. If there is no mind when entering the noble path, then since there is no place for simultaneous arising, the undefiled mind-consciousness will not arise either, would this become a fault? To this, some previous teachers say: When entering the noble path, the nature of the mind itself does not stop, however, the four afflictions that are associated with the mind will stop. Therefore, there is an undefiled mind, so there is no fault. Others say that the mind has the ability
