The reasoning renowned in speech has been explained. To summarize the ascertainment based on reasoning renowned in both scriptures and the world: From the summary: The initial taking manifests, seeds, actions, and bodily sensations, entering into mindless constancy, likewise, death and transference are irreversible. Thus it is said. Regarding this, the concise meaning here is this: If the ālaya-vijñāna does not exist, the taking of the body is impossible, the entering into clarity is impossible, the initial entering is impossible, seeds are impossible, actions are impossible, bodily sensations are impossible, entering into mindless absorption is impossible, the death and transference of consciousness are impossible, and so forth, faults would arise, which is also not permissible. Therefore, it should be understood that the ālaya-vijñāna exists. Among these, the impossibility of taking the body, the impossibility of seeds, and the impossibility of death and transference, the three, because they have been extensively explained before, will not be elaborated again. If the ālaya-vijñāna exists, therefore sometimes co-emergent wisdom also arises, then would it become that two minds arise simultaneously? That is thinking of fault where there is no fault. Because, when the five objects are simultaneously present, the five faculties are also undamaged, and attention is also equally abiding on all objects, if two minds cannot arise simultaneously, then it would be reasonable for any one to arise first, but that is also not the case. Because all the objects, faculties, and attention are abiding near with powerful abilities without any difference, and it is unreasonable for the cause to be simultaneously present and the result to arise sequentially. If two consciousnesses cannot arise simultaneously, then the mind consciousness that clearly grasps the object would be impossible, like this: The objects of mind consciousness are four, namely the three times and the unconditioned. Among these, the mind consciousness that directly realizes the past, future, and unconditioned, because the object is not real, it is not permissible to clearly grasp it. The conceptual thought that arises based on signs such as smoke regarding the present object is also because the object is hidden. If the sense consciousnesses and one object simultaneously engage
