If one says it is exhausted, there is no fault, but if one considers that it has excellent power and can create something new that has never existed before, and says it creates anew, there is not much fault either. However, the thought of those former teachers seems to be examining whether the habit, this other dharma, exists from the beginning or is newly produced. Therefore, I do not see this as reasonable in any way. The establishment of how to instill has been explained. Now, we must examine what the nature of what is instilled is. Regarding this, based on the fact that the आधार (Tibetan: གཞི་, Sanskrit Devanagari: आश्रय, Sanskrit Romanization: āśraya, Chinese literal meaning: foundation) to be instilled, which has the characteristics mentioned earlier, and the हेतु (Tibetan: སྒོ་བྱེད, Sanskrit Devanagari: हेतु, Sanskrit Romanization: hetu, Chinese literal meaning: cause) that instills, arise and cease simultaneously in the same continuum, the ability to produce a result that is in accordance with the instiller from the आधार (Tibetan: གཞི་, Sanskrit Devanagari: आश्रय, Sanskrit Romanization: āśraya, Chinese literal meaning: foundation) to be instilled, that which cannot be said to be either itself or anything else is also called habit, also called seed, also called ability. As it is said, in the Compendium of Vehicles: "What is habit? What is the meaning of what is called habit? It is the nature of the cause that produces that dharma, based on the fact that it arises and ceases simultaneously with that dharma, that is the meaning of what is said. For example, when sesame seeds are scented with flowers, the sesame seeds and flowers arise and cease simultaneously, but the sesame seeds produce the nature of the cause of other fragrances, and the habits of desire, etc., of those who practice desire, etc., arise and cease simultaneously with desire, etc., but the mind is the nature of the cause of that dharma, and the habits of much learning of those who have learned much also arise and cease simultaneously with the attention to that hearing, but the mind is the nature of the cause of saying that dharma. Just as one who is completely controlled by habit is called a dharma-holder, the same should be seen for the alaya-consciousness." This is what was said. Among them, "the meaning of what is said" up to "the meaning of what is said" is the meaning. From "for example" onwards, it shows the two types of examples that are famous in the world and in the treatises. Among them, the example of flowers and sesame seeds is famous in the world. Desire, etc., are famous in the treatises. Among them, the first is completely afflicted.

It corresponds and conforms to the earth element. Examples such as "those who have heard much" are examples of corresponding and conforming to purity. Examples such as "being possessed by habits" are examples of combining examples and meanings in Dharma, thereby making a conclusion. Whether habits and Alaya are one entity or different entities, the analysis made therein, as stated therein, in the Alaya consciousness, are those seeds of all defiled dharmas different from each other, or do they exist without being different? In this regard, those who abide in it are not different in substance, nor are they not different. Although they are not not different, the Alaya consciousness with the particularity of the power of its arising arises in this way, so it is called the seed of all. In this regard, the meaning is this: the seeds of all defiled dharmas are not entities that exist outside of the Alaya consciousness, because they should not be form, but should be the nature of mind and mental factors. If that is the case, then the continuum of sentient beings' minds will become multiple faults. If you say that just as multiple mental factors arise simultaneously, it will not become multiple continuums? No, because mental factors arise depending on one order. If you say that just as multiple entering consciousnesses arise simultaneously in one continuum, it will not become multiple continuums? No, the entering consciousnesses depend on one Alaya consciousness. If the entering habits and Alaya are different in substance, then they can arise autonomously without relying on it, so the fault of becoming multiple continuums is obvious. They are also not one with the Alaya consciousness, because the Alaya consciousness is the ultimate nature of the complete maturation of all defiled habits, just as it no longer has the ability to produce other Vipaka fruits. The habits of karma, etc., will also become the fault of not having the ability to produce Vipaka fruits, and like Alaya, the habits, etc., will also become Vipaka fruits produced by the attraction of past karma, so there will be a fault, that is, it does not depend on the inducing cause of this life. Also, in the Meaning Hidden Manifestation, it says: If it is one,
