These also, if they arise from the causal conditions of the predispositions of elaboration that manifest external and internal form-possessing objects, such as the eye-sense-sphere, then at that time, these will also appear as external and internal forms, and will not transform into the formless realm, because the ālaya has the appearance of external and internal forms. Therefore, these formless resultant consciousnesses do not arise from the predispositions of the manifestation of form-possessing objects, but rather from the causal conditions of the predispositions of the manifestation of non-form-possessing objects, such as space, and from the dominant condition of the meditative absorption that previously focused on non-form-possessing objects, such as 'space is infinite,' they are born with only non-form-possessing objects as their focus. When one dies and transmigrates from the formless realm to the form-possessing realm, at that time, the predispositions of elaboration of form-possessing objects, which exist as the potential nature within that very resultant consciousness, are fully activated, and from that causal condition, another resultant consciousness that appears as external and internal forms connects. In what manner do these objects enter? They enter in a way that is extremely unclear, continuous, and of a single taste until the end of life. Why is it extremely unclear? Just as the eye-consciousness focuses on forms, etc., due to the power of experience, this resultant consciousness cannot completely determine by the power of experience that it focuses on the internal taker and the external container that possess the characteristics described above. Otherwise, the object of this consciousness does not directly point to anything other than these. This is because it is merely established through scripture and reasoning. Why does it enter in a single taste? Because whatever the object and aspect are at the first moment of connection in the place of birth, it will continue in that same way until the end of life, and there will not be a single moment of change in the object and aspect. Therefore, it is called entering in a single taste. Therefore, it is also called the object and aspect being completely uninterrupted. Or, this

Because its object is without distinction, since each moment constantly focuses on all internal and external things. Therefore, this is called the object and aspect being completely without distinction. The way this enters into objects and aspects is extensively explained in the *Collected Distinctions*, as it says: 'What is the establishment of entering through objects? In brief, the ālaya-vijñāna enters with two kinds of objects and aspects: the internal apprehending consciousness and the external container-world completely undifferentiated consciousness. Among these, the internal apprehending is the habit of manifestly clinging to the nature of the completely conceptualized, and the form of the sense faculties together with their support. This is so in the form realm. In the formless realm, it is only the apprehension of habits. Among these, the external container-world completely undifferentiated consciousness is that the ālaya-vijñāna, relying on that object which is the object of apprehension, constantly and continuously cognizes the continuum of the world and its contents. For example, just as a burning butter lamp's wick and oil continuously enter inward, and outwardly produce light, so too, one should view the principle of the ālaya-vijñāna in this way with respect to the internal object of apprehension and the external object.' That object is subtle because it is difficult even for worldly scholars to fully analyze. That object is always present and does not change at times. However, from the first moment until the destruction of the world, consciousness will enter with the same taste. The ālaya-vijñāna should be regarded as momentary on the object, as it enters through the continuum of momentary continuums, and is not a single entity. The ālaya-vijñāna should be said to have a small object in the desire realm. In the form realm, it should be said to have a large object. In the formless realm, in the sphere of infinite space and the sphere of infinite consciousness, it has immeasurable objects. In the sphere of nothingness, it has a subtle object. In the non-perception
