When one is born into the realm of the gods without perception, the mind and the mental phenomena that arise from it, which are impermanent, along with the assembly of the six consciousnesses, cease, that is, they cease naturally. Until the ripening of karma is exhausted, the state of the body that is incompatible with the entering consciousness is called "without perception," but this is also not a real substance. In this state, a slight consciousness arises immediately after birth, and then it ceases naturally, and finally, from there, death occurs, and the entering consciousness arises again from the alaya. At that time, a wrong view of denigrating liberation arises, so it is called the long-lived god, which is a place of no leisure. This is because the Arhats, the lesser vehicle practitioners, are said in the scriptures to be born in the realm of the gods without perception in their previous lives. If, at the time of death, a wrong view of denigrating liberation arises, the roots of virtue are cut off, and it is certain that they will fall into the lower realms in the future. Therefore, being born there, for countless great eons, the consciousness of the six consciousnesses ceases, and there is no opportunity to do good. When consciousness arises, it is the time of death from that place. Therefore, because there is no opportunity to do good on that basis, it is a place of no leisure. The life force is the continuity of the aggregates of one lifetime in beings of the same kind, such as gods and humans, due to the power of the karma of previously accumulated merit and non-merit, etc., for as long as it lasts, whether it is a hundred years or a thousand years, etc. This fixed time is called "life," but it is not a real substance. Life, vital force, and life force are different terms. Homogeneous refers to the realm of sentient beings, such as gods and humans, where the elements of sentient beings are the same, the realms are the same, and the birthplaces are the same, and the bodies of those kinds, ages, sizes, etc., that is, the limbs of the aggregates, are similar, are called homogeneous. Birth is the arising of the stream of conditioned phenomena, which are included in the continuum of sentient beings, from what has not arisen in a homogeneous way, and is called birth, which is not another real substance, nor is it the same. Aging is the stream of conditioned phenomena from the birth of a homogeneous being to death, the previous moment

Subsequent karma refers to the state that becomes different from other states. For example, from being soft to becoming rough, and so on. Similarly, from childhood to adolescence, then to youth, and so on, eventually becoming old. This is called aging, and there is no other substance. Existence refers to the continuous and fearless progression of similar conditioned phenomena from birth to death, which is called existence. Impermanence refers to the fearful and interrupted continuation of similar conditioned phenomena contained within the aggregates of one lifetime, which is called impermanence itself, and it is not so for each moment, nor does it become another meaning and remain constant. Then, do external forms and so on not also have birth, aging, impermanence, and so on? If so, why is it said that only similar conditioned phenomena contained within the continuum of sentient beings are said to have birth, etc.? The characteristics of conditioned phenomena spoken by the Bhagavan, birth, aging, impermanence, and existence, are directed towards the conditioned phenomena that are counted as sentient beings, and are shown not to be directed towards external phenomena. Since both have birth, etc., in common, why did the Bhagavan speak in this way, directing it only towards the conditioned phenomena included within sentient beings? Because external forms, etc., are distinguished by destruction and production, while internal conditioned phenomena are distinguished by birth, aging, etc. That is, in the world, external forms, etc., are destroyed, and for arising, they are called by the sounds of destruction and production, so the Bhagavan also spoke in accordance with them, and did not show them as the sounds of birth, etc. Internal conditioned phenomena, on the other hand, are called birth, aging, existence, and decay, and so on. Therefore, the Bhagavan also spoke of their arising, etc., with the sounds of birth, etc., in accordance with the world. Thus, in order to eliminate the views of the Vaibhashikas who believe that birth, etc., are universal characteristics of conditioned phenomena, and that they are also present in each moment, and that they are different substances from the essence. Here, in order, the same
