It is the action that serves as the basis for entering. Fifth, regarding the view that is manifestly attached to distorted dharmas and possesses the cause for accomplishment, there are two explanations: the explanation of the nature of the view and the explanation of the distinctions. First, these views, although there is no distinction between wisdom with defilements and wisdom without defilements, are shown to be different due to the distinctions of object and aspect, and therefore are divided into five, such as the view of the aggregates of decay. Among them, the view of the aggregates of decay is, as stated in the sutra: 'Whatever śrāmaṇas or brahmins view as self and as belonging to self, those are with regard to these five aggregates of grasping.' Thus, the object is the five aggregates of grasping, and the aspect is the correct viewing that regards the self as the enjoyer and regards what is to be enjoyed as belonging to the self. That is, when viewing one's own aggregates as self, one will regard the aggregates of others, such as sons and wives, as belonging to self. When viewing one part of one's own aggregates as self, one will view the others as belonging to self. For example, those who, like the Samkhyas, wish to know the self, when viewing the aggregates gathered by mind and mental factors as self, will view the form aggregates, such as the eyes, as belonging to self. Those who, like the Vaisheshikas, consider the self to be a substance, when imputing the form aggregates, such as the eyes, as self, will regard the name aggregates as belonging to self. The names for correct viewing are patience, and so on. Because one believes in it and is not afraid, it is patience. Because one seeks meaning, it is desire. Because one fully distinguishes, it is wisdom. Because one obtains certainty, it is discrimination. Because one holds it as a virtue, it is a view. Alternatively, the earlier ones are explained by the later ones. Why is it called the view of the aggregates of decay? Because the object of this view, the five aggregates of grasping, each has the nature of decaying on its own and accumulating many parts, it is called aggregates of decay. Because it focuses on an object that has the nature of decay and aggregation, and views it as not being aggregates of decay, it is called the view of the aggregates of decay. The very name 'view of the aggregates of decay' shows that the object of this view is not self.

Yes. Because I acknowledge those who claim that the "self" is permanent and has a single nature. The view of the aggregates also has two distinctions: innate and imputed. The first is that, due to the power of habituation from beginningless time, even those who have become animal beings naturally have the thought, "May I be happy, may I not suffer." As it is also said in the Pramāṇavārttika, "Because of the desire to be happy or not to suffer, the thought 'I' arises; the view of sentient beings is innate." The imputed is that, due to the power of hearing and thinking about the tenets taught by bad spiritual friends, one grasps that there is a self that is either one with or different from the aggregates, and then examines it, imputing it with characteristics such as being annihilationist, having qualities, or not having qualities. The former is called innate because it follows all sentient beings due to the power of habituation from beginningless time. The latter is called imputed because it arises suddenly in some people due to the power of conditions. Therefore, the object of the innate view of the aggregates is beings, persons, and individuals, and therefore it exists conventionally. Otherwise, the terms person and sentient being, etc., would be unreasonable. What are persons and sentient beings? These are terms used by worldly people who have been deluded by the darkness of ignorance since beginningless time, and they should be understood by following these terms, not by following reason to indicate "this is it." Therefore, those who say that the continuum of aggregates is a person, and others who say that the continuum of the ālaya-vijñāna is a person, etc., are outside the essence of the Sugata's teaching, which is the meaning of selflessness. For they have already acknowledged that the ālaya and the five aggregates themselves are the self, because self, person, sentient being, and individual, etc., are just different names. In that case, it would be unreasonable to say that the Śrāvaka Āryas directly see selflessness, because they...
