Moreover, since other senses such as the eye are not entirely different from the body's senses, and because they are obstructive and accumulative, they are also referred to by the term "body." Therefore, the feelings that rely on them are also called "bodily." What are the feelings of the mind? They are the feelings that correspond with the consciousness of the mind. Because these feelings are beneficial or harmful to the mind itself, they are called feelings of the mind. What are the feelings with defilements? They are the feelings that correspond with craving, which has the characteristic of desire and attachment to the five aggregates of the body's appropriation. It means that they are bound and possessed by craving. Therefore, the feeling that corresponds with such craving is called a feeling with defilements. Because the defiling dharma, which is craving with the characteristic of desire and attachment to the aggregates, is the cause of increase. What are the feelings without defilements? They refer to the feeling that does not correspond with craving, through abandoning the craving as mentioned before. Because it does not increase the defiling dharma, which is craving. Here, the meaning of corresponding is not referring to the sameness of object, aspect, etc. Because craving is desire, although it corresponds with pleasant feeling, it is contradictory to correspond with painful feeling. Moreover, it does not pervade all contaminated feelings where craving has not been abandoned, because that would lead to the fault of becoming a feeling without defilements. Therefore, the meaning of corresponding refers to being bound by craving because craving has not been abandoned. This method should also be applied to the support of attachment. What is the feeling that is the support of attachment? It is the objects such as form and sound, which are repeatedly desired and habituated by children, and therefore called qualities of desire. The feeling that corresponds with craving, which has the characteristic of desire and attachment to these qualities of desire, is the feeling that is the support of attachment. Because the dharma that is the support of attachment, which is craving for the five desires, will increase. What is the feeling that is the support of manifest arising? It is the feeling that does not correspond with the craving just mentioned, through the method of detachment from desire. Because it does not increase the dharma that is the support of attachment, which is craving. Here it is said:
