Like leaves and some fruit shapes, they also possess the quality of lightness, making them easy to lift. Therefore, those should not excessively become the wind element. It should be said that movement, which has the characteristic of causing the continuity of tangible matter to arise and move elsewhere. Movement is action, not essence. Because of the concern of not revealing the fault of the essence, lightness is mentioned. Thus, lightness that possesses the action of movement is the meaning of the wind element itself. Secondly, regarding the explanation of resultant form, there are also two aspects. The brief indication is: That which is called "form made as a cause," if asked how many types it has and what its essence is like, then the eye faculty, etc., are mentioned. Among them, "one aspect of tangibility" refers to holding the tangibility that is about to arise, because that is the time, and the arising tangibilities have also been explained before. Any form that is merely the object of mental consciousness and does not perform any action whatsoever for any other mind and mental factors is called the form included in the sphere of phenomena. It should not be said that the form that is merely the object of mental consciousness is the form included in the sphere of phenomena, because that would also be a fault for the eye faculty, etc. To explain that in detail, there are three explanations: pure form, form of pure object, and form of the object of mind. The first is: What are those eye faculties, etc.? This is the question. The four great elements are the cause, the basis of eye consciousness, and are pure form. Thus it is said, etc. These faculties, each one, are indicated from the three aspects of cause, effect, and self-nature. Among them, "the four great elements as the cause" indicates the form of the result from the aspect of the cause, in order to exclude other schools that believe that the faculties arise without a cause, or that they arise from incompatible causes such as Ishvara and Vishnu, and self-Buddhas and other schools that say that the faculties are merely the four great elements.
