Some Ra Na Madhyamikas believe that, in order to conform to worldly fame, they classify things, and they think that this does not contradict the genre classification of this treatise. There are also some Svatantrikas who believe that their statements are consistent with the statements of the Sutra School and other schools. There are also two views on the Yogacara. For example, the two masters of logic, the Lord of Reasoning, believe that their own and others' schools are actually gradually tending towards the views of the Yogacara, so in some treatises, they also establish the classification of things that truly exist. This is consistent with the views of the Sutra School. As the glorious Dharmakirti said: "If one enters the realm of external objects, I will rely on the ladder of the Sutra School." This is well known among the wise. Therefore, by showing the classification of things and the wisdom that holds things in accordance with the Sutra School's tenets, the things fabricated by other schools, such as "self," "independent," and "having limbs," do not exist. However, when it is understood that things are the nature of accumulated dust, and that consciousness also has the image of objects, they believe that this is explaining the selflessness of phenomena. As it is said: "However one thinks of things, one will be separated from distinctions." These words of the wise come from the power of things themselves. And "Whoever analyzes things, then it itself does not exist. Because it does not have the nature of one and many." etc., to prevent external objects and the grasped and the grasper from being truly established. In this way, how can one refute the fame that cannot be denied by anyone from the wise to the child, that is, things such as form, as well as the grasper and the grasped? In order to establish conventional truth, the classification of the grasper and the grasped etc. is established based on the appearance of the grasper and the grasped etc. as seen by those who are deluded by ignorance. As it is said: "There is no difference between the knowable and the knowing, just like the difference in knowledge of hair etc. When the grasper and the grasped are distinguished, their characteristics are all deluded. How they are seen by illusion, that is how these are established. At that time, one should not argue about the characteristics of the grasper and the grasped." And "The grasper and the grasped are wisdom."

Though not a measure, both the measure and the measurable reside in the result. Thus, it acts according to what appears. Thus, the venerable Dharmakīrti established two kinds of reasoning about meaning. One is based on the principle that meaning is truly existent. The second is based on the principle that forms and other meanings are not truly existent, but are merely nominal. The first is merely a means of establishing other doctrines and is not accepted by one's own doctrine. The second is taught for the sake of establishing conventional truth, so it is accepted by one's own doctrine. Otherwise, those establishments would be contradictory, so one would have to accept contradictions in one's own treatises. The noble Asanga, even in other doctrines, does not establish external objects as truly existent, but for the sake of establishing conventional truth based on the appearance and fame of the great elements and the forms made from the great elements to children who follow ignorance, he extensively explains the establishment of the aggregate of form in this treatise and the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra and so on. Some Tibetans, from most to Buton (1290-1364), say in the Meaning Treasury that the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra is explained in terms of common and uncommon things such as Śrāvakas. Having thought this, they say that most of the establishments of the aggregate of form and so on in this treatise are the establishments of the Sautrāntika school, which does not seem reasonable. In this treatise and the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra, it is forbidden for form to be truly existent, and it is also forbidden for the meanings of form, sound, etc. to be made by atoms. Atoms are merely conceptual constructs and are not truly existent. The shapes of length and so on are objects of eye consciousness, and whatever is established as the eight aggregates of consciousness, and whatever Sautrāntikas establish as truly existent atoms and the forms and so on accumulated by them, and the shapes are merely conceptual constructs, so they are not the objects of the senses, and whatever establishes consciousness as only six aggregates, what opportunity is there for those establishments to be the same? What is said in the Meaning Treasury is that the Yogācārabhūmi-śāstra and so on are for the three lineages.
