If all natures touch, since the first and second atoms mix in the same location, no matter how many atoms gather together, it would follow that their location and volume would not increase more and more than the first atom. Or, the subtle atom will have directional parts, because whichever directional part of the central atom is touched by the eastern atom, the other atoms located in other directions do not touch that part, and like the eastern atom, the other directional atoms also touch the other directional parts of the central atom. Therefore, the subtle atom's surrounding is with intervals, and it is held by the holding wind, so they do not separate from each other. As it is said in the Establishment of External Objects: Many from different directions, Are merely said to surround from all sides, That atom, Is not of the nature of having parts. That is what is said. Such a subtle atom surrounded with intervals is also called an accumulated collection. Since they become the cause of the various consciousnesses of the senses in their respective ways, through the door of location and object, they are also called the ten sense bases of form. Therefore, it is also said in the sutra: The five aggregates of consciousness are focused on the collection. And the ten sense bases are the collection of subtle atoms, I think. Those sense bases such as form, which are of the nature of collection, are merely touching each other in a place where similar atoms can accommodate, so apart from atoms, the nature of what is called coarse does not exist. And, in order to produce actions such as generating self-grasping consciousness, it is also not that they do not exist as substances. It is also said in the Establishment of External Objects: Which atoms meet, And perform similar actions, Then if it is said to be a collection, How could that be without substance? That is what is said. Like a yak's tail, the forms and so on that exist separately without mixing, the consciousness of the senses holds them as they are, therefore the consciousness of the senses holds the subtle atoms, and the subsequent determination cannot determine the distinctions like the object of the consciousness of the senses, therefore completely categorizing form, sound, etc., into the nature of the sense bases.

Now to do. Therefore, even from the perspective of external object accomplishment, it is through the discriminating consciousness that one ascertains it as one. Therefore, by its own nature, to the consciousness, the atoms are said to be invisible. All of these are not established. Thus it is said. If even in the state of aggregation, it does not go beyond the nature of the subtle atom, then like the atom, at that time also, there would be no parts such as direction and shape. If you ask, it is not so, because at the time of aggregation, other shapes such as length and shortness, which are different from color, arise. The direction substance of the east and so on is also because of the difference in the arrangement of color particles and so on, the mind closely attaches the direction of the east and so on to that. The Sutra masters think that if the atoms gather to become the object of perception, then the faults mentioned before will occur, so they are neither in contact with each other nor with intervals, because if a space for other atoms to enter is found, then pots and so on will not be able to block water and so on. Therefore, since there is no space for other atoms to enter, there is no interval. If they all touch, they will not grow larger and larger. If one direction touches, then the atom will have parts. Therefore, the atoms, even if they do not touch, are without interval and abide in a state of close adhesion to the place. Even in the state of aggregation, there is no change from the nature of the subtle atom, but the terms with parts such as direction and shape are applied. Color is the difference in the arrangement of atoms, and the directions such as east and the shapes such as length and shortness are fabricated by discrimination, and only these terms are applied, but these are not established as substances. Why are direction and shape not established as substances? If these are established as substances, then are they established on each individual atom, or are they established on things that are not assembled into these atoms? The first case is not reasonable, because whatever is the entity of a single substance should not have parts such as direction and shape, for example, like a single moment of consciousness, each subtle atom is also the nature of a single substance. This is called pervasive contradiction.
