Therefore. If those states of mind are not different in nature from mind, then, the fault of those states being unreasonable from the skandha of consciousness to the skandha of form, etc., still remains. The mind that merely completely cuts off the meaning is also named as transforming into other states that completely cut off the differences in meaning such as mental pain, because in a single moment, no difference in the agent is observed by which it transforms to rely on other states. To say that only mind exists as a real entity also contradicts the scriptures, which say that the mind defiled by desire, the mind defiled by hatred and ignorance will not be liberated. If the nature of mind is luminosity, and mental factors such as desire are other things, then desire, etc., should completely defile the mind. Otherwise, if the dharma that completely defiles and the dharma that is completely defiled cannot arise simultaneously, then what binds what? Because the act of binding oneself is contradictory. Furthermore, it also contradicts the sutra which says, "Co-emergent feeling, perception, volition, etc., are mixed, not unmixed." If there is no co-emergence, the word "mixed" is unreasonable. For things that are not different, the word "co-emergent" is also unreasonable. Therefore, mind and mental factors should be different entities. Similarity of correspondence refers to two things with the same nature, such as a virtuous mind and a virtuous mental factor, corresponding, not two things with different natures, such as a virtuous mind and a non-virtuous mental factor. Like the present mind and the present mental factor, they are two things with the same time, not two things with different times, such as the past mind and the future mental factor. Like the mind that operates in the desire realm and the mental factors of that realm, they are the same realm and ground, not the mind of the desire realm and the mental factors of the first dhyana, which are different realms and grounds. The difference in the types of correspondence

The explanation is: The constantly pervasive correspondence is the five pervasive behaviors such as feeling, and the various consciousnesses, because in any case, it is impossible to lack any of these. The correspondence of afflictions, which is constantly pervasive, is the mind of afflictions, and the four afflictions such as ignorance that arise with it. Sometimes corresponding to the mind are virtues such as faith, and afflictions such as greed, and near afflictions such as anger, because the mind will produce these when it is completely defiled by afflictions and completely purified. The correspondence of states, etc., is enough to understand. The correspondence of familiarity is: the minds and mental factors of ordinary people, and among the minds and mental factors of learners and non-learners, some are worldly virtues, and uncovered and unspecified, and afflictions, because their own kind has existed since beginningless time, so it is called familiarity with samsara. The non-familiar correspondence is: the supramundane mind and mental factors, the first moment of suffering dharma wisdom forbearance, and the जितने supramundane that arise after it, and those that appear as suchness obtained from the supramundane, are called non-familiar with samsara, because when residing in samsara, the same kind of these has never arisen in the continuum. The so-called "after that" etc. is to eliminate the doubt about whether the second moment and later are familiar. The benefit of being proficient in correspondence is: just the mind that is free from self can know the principles of correspondence and non-correspondence with feelings etc. and completely afflictions such as greed, and completely pure dharmas such as faith. After knowing this, I feel the different ripening fruits of good and evil, such as joy and pain. Can understand the characteristics of names. Can clearly recognize and think about good etc. Can remember things experienced in the past. Greed etc.
