The three virtuous activities of the lower three realms, the two emanated minds of desire and form realms, the place of craftsmanship of the desire realm, and the śaikṣa-anāsrava (有学无漏) – these seven dharmas are possessed. It is possible to possess the previous twelve dharmas manifestly, except for the śaikṣa-anāsrava. If one is of the nature of not passing beyond suffering, then one does not possess the śaikṣa-anāsrava; the others are as before. If one has severed the root of virtue, then other than the innate virtue of one's own realm, the other five possess seeds; those who have not severed the root of virtue possess those mentioned above. The virtuous, the undeclared, and the two arising from effort of one's own realm are possessed. For those, the two abandoned afflictions of the higher realms become manifest. For ordinary beings born in the form realm, the two afflictions of the two higher realms, the undeclared resultant birth of one's own realm, the two behavioral ones, and the innate virtue – these five dharmas possess seeds. The virtuous arising from effort of the two higher realms, the emanated mind of the desire realm, and the emanated minds of one's own realm are possessed. It is possible to possess the eight dharmas of those aggregates manifestly. For those born in the formless realm, the afflictions of one's own realm, the innate virtue, and the three undeclared resultant births possess seeds, while some of the virtuous arising from effort of one's own realm are possessed, and the aggregates of those are manifestly possessed. The two āryas of the desire realm are the śaikṣa and aśaikṣa. The śaikṣa is also of two types: those who have not separated from desire and those who have. These, for the ordinary beings of the desire realm who possess the nature of passing completely beyond suffering, should be counted as they are counted. For these, the śaikṣa-anāsrava is manifestly possessed, while the aśaikṣa-anāsrava is possessed – this is the distinction. For the aśaikṣa, the innate virtue of the desire realm, the resultant birth, and the behavioral ones possess seeds, while the virtuous arising from effort of the three realms, the aśaikṣa-anāsrava, the emanated minds of the two lower realms, and those in the place of craftsmanship of the desire realm are possessed. The aggregates of those are manifestly possessed. The āryas of the form and formless realms are also of two types: śaikṣa and aśaikṣa. The śaikṣas of those are the same as those ordinary beings.

The similarity is that the learners with uncontaminated power have both freedom and manifestation, while the non-learners with uncontaminated power only have freedom, which is the difference. The non-learners in the form realm have the naturally born virtues of their own realm, as well as the unindicated ripening birth, and they have the seeds of the practitioners; the virtues of the two higher realms are born from cultivation, and the emanated minds of the desire and form realms, and the uncontaminated non-learners all have power. These have the manifestation of vows. The non-learners in the formless realm have the naturally born virtues of their own realm, and the seeds of the unindicated ripening birth; the virtues of their own realm are born from cultivation, and the uncontaminated non-learners have power, and these have the manifestation of vows. Secondly, the classification of having is threefold, including having seeds. Regarding the nature of each, there are two types: actual and specific. First, regarding the having of ordinary beings in the three realms, what is it to have seeds? For example, an ordinary being born in the desire realm has the afflictions of the desire, form, and formless realms of the three realms, and the naturally born virtues of their own realm, because they have seeds. This should be understood as referring to ordinary beings who have not separated from attachment. Those ordinary beings in the desire realm who have separated from desire, and those ordinary beings born in the higher realms, may or may not have the seeds of the afflictions and near afflictions of the lower realms such as the desire realm, because worldly antidotes have caused harm, or because supramundane antidotes have not completely destroyed the latent tendencies, respectively. Those born in the form realm have the afflictions and near afflictions of the form and formless realms, and the virtues obtained by birth in their own realm, because they have seeds. Similarly, those born in the formless realm are also said to have the afflictions and near afflictions of their own realm, and the virtues obtained by birth, because they have seeds. Secondly, regarding the having of noble ones: for those who have obtained the supramundane path, which is the antidote to the three realms, whatever great categories of afflictions to be abandoned by meditation have arisen as antidotes and have arisen in the continuum
