Meaning: If all of this has the meaning of complete understanding, and complete understanding also has the fruit of abandonment, then what will those who are skilled in the various distinctions of characteristics, etc., completely understand and abandon? Those who are skilled in the nature of the aggregates, etc., will completely understand and abandon the erroneous basis of clinging to these as the sole, the agent, and the enjoyer self. Those who are skilled in the various distinctions of aspects will abandon the perception and clinging to these as a single, whole self. Those who are skilled in the distinctions of the body, by realizing that the streams of beings are each different, will completely understand and abandon the perception of encountering the results of actions not done, and the fruition of actions done being wasted. Those who are skilled in the distinctions of continuity, by realizing that the aggregates, etc., arise and cease in each moment, will completely understand and abandon the perception of clinging to these as stable and permanent. Fourth, the division into six types, such as external view: Again, the aggregates, etc. Among these, most of the aggregates, realms, and sources that operate in the desire realm are considered external views because they are in accordance with the increase of craving for the qualities of desire. The reason for saying "most" is that hearing and mind itself, etc., which arise from the cause of Dharma that is in accordance with the cause of realizing the Dharma realm, are not considered external views, and it is to exclude these that the word "most" is used. All the levels of meditative absorption are considered internal views because they are in accordance with the increase of craving for meditative absorption. For ordinary beings, because the beginning and end cannot be definitively grasped, it is a long duration. For those who are learning and those who are not learning, except for the final aggregates, etc., there is a definite understanding that "it will only continue for this much time and this much life, and not beyond that," and therefore it is called "time completely cut off." For those who are not learning, the final aggregates, etc., are called "that time" because their continuity is cut off externally in an instant. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, those who have reached the other shore of supreme power, merely universally show the aggregates, etc., to those to be tamed, but they are not included by their own stream of being, and therefore it is called "universal showing." Thus.

In order to increase the wisdom that thoroughly distinguishes suchness, he considered that after showing the detailed distinctions, by summarizing the mind by focusing on the object, he showed the summarization for the purpose of accomplishing tranquility and insight. Someone asked, what is summarization? etc. That is, it should be understood through three aspects: distinction, their respective essence, and the benefits of mastering these. Distinction refers to observing eleven forms, etc. The respective essence refers to the way of summarizing through characteristics: the respective characteristics of the aggregates, etc., from being able to become form to the gateway through which consciousness arises through the object, whatever these are, each summarizes its own characteristic basis. Summarizing through realms means: all the aggregates, etc., are summarized by the Alaya consciousness as the basis of all seeds, because their seeds exist there. Summarizing through types means: the five aggregates, the eighteen realms, and the twelve sources, although their respective characteristics are different, if the meaning of the aggregates is emphasized as accumulation, etc., then all five aggregates belong to the same type; if the meaning of the realms and sources is emphasized as holding enjoyment and acting as the gateway for beings, then they also belong to the same type, so it should be considered that everything summarizes each other. Summarizing through states means: the aggregates, etc., in a state of happiness are summarized by the state of happiness itself; similarly, the aggregates, etc., in a state of suffering and equanimity should also be summarized by those states themselves. Summarizing through companions means: the object to be summarized, that is, the form aggregate with its retinue, is the subject of summarization. The other five aggregates, as companions, are summarized by these five aggregates, and similarly, the other aggregates, such as the feeling aggregate, etc., are also summarized by their own companions, that is, all five aggregates, until "the dharma source is also summarized by other sources that are its own companions." Summarizing through direction and summarizing through time are easy to understand. Summarizing through one aspect means: the dharma summarized by the aggregates, etc., such as the aggregates of precepts, etc., and the realms of desire, etc., and space.
