It is regarded as the suffering of suffering. One aspect of everything is the feeling of suffering and its place. By merely knowing that the suffering of suffering is dharma, one abandons clinging to it as self. The feeling of experiencing pleasure, and the self-characterized dharma that accords with experiencing it, when the faculties and objects change, unpleasantness arises again for those with attachment, and also because of attachment to pleasure and things that become pleasant to experience, the mind becomes different from its previous state. It is the suffering of change. One aspect of everything is the dharmas that are pleasant and become pleasant to experience. By merely knowing that the suffering of change is dharma, one abandons clinging to it as self. The feeling that is neither suffering nor pleasure, equanimity, and the dharma that becomes to experience it, and the evil destinies of both suffering and the suffering of change are completely grasped, and because one is not liberated from those two, sometimes one relies on the state of pleasure, sometimes one relies on the state of suffering, always going around in circles. It is not the case that one merely abides in the state of equanimity. Therefore, because they are bound by impermanence, and not because they are accomplishment and pleasure, one should understand that the contaminated feeling of equanimity and its place, etc., are the suffering of conditioning. The aggregates, and the realms and sources, the last three and two aspects of them, except for the uncontaminated ones. By merely knowing that the suffering of conditioning, the feeling of equanimity and its place are dharma, one abandons clinging to it as self. Those associated with maturation, in reality, are the non-virtuous and virtuous contaminated dharmas, because they are the seeds of maturation that throw one into rebirth, they are regarded as associated with maturation. The seven consciousness realms, and the form, sound, and dharma realms, i.e., the ten realms, and the form, sound, dharma, and mind sources, i.e., one aspect of the four sources, are those included by the non-virtuous and virtuous contaminated dharmas. And accumulating the imprints of the aggregates in cyclic existence, and being the maturation that connects one to rebirth, by merely knowing that association with maturation is dharma, one abandons clinging to it as self. The second, the possessing dharma is: maturation in reality is

Furthermore, the alaya-consciousness together with its associated factors—these are of the nature of the complete maturation of previous actions. Other than that, the eye and so forth, and pleasure and pain and so forth, are named 'maturation' because they arise from maturation. Food is of four kinds: solid food, contact, volition, and consciousness. Among these, solid food is coarse, and it exists in all five destinies in the desire realm, and also in some temporary hell beings, but not in the great hells. Others say that even in those places, there are burning iron hammers and molten copper and so forth, which alleviate hunger, so they are considered as food. The meaning of food is to satisfy the senses, so I think that is unreasonable. The remaining foods are observed in all three realms. When do conditioned phenomena abide by means of seven causes? For example, for a while, just the initial arising is the cause for the abiding of conditioned phenomena, because conditioned phenomena that have arisen abide, and those that have not arisen do not abide. The life faculty and food are also causes. The magical powers of those who have mastery over their minds are also causes, because they extend the activities of life and abide for more than kalpas upon kalpas. The collection of causes and conditions is also a cause, because as long as causes and conditions are not separated, the continuum of the existence of virtuous, non-virtuous, and unspecified phenomena will not be interrupted. The projection of previous actions is also a cause for the abiding of conditioned phenomena accomplished by virtuous, non-virtuous, and unspecified phenomena, such as external objects produced by common and uncommon actions. The absence of interruption is also the seventh cause for the abiding of conditioned phenomena. Those conditioned phenomena that arise from their own causes and have not encountered the power of causes and conditions will continue to exist if they do not encounter obstacles of adverse conditions; otherwise, they will be destroyed. Since there are seven causes for the abiding of conditioned phenomena, why did the Bhagavan only say that food is mind?
