Relating one's own ground to another's ground, and so forth. The diverse object is the object of mind and mental factors, including realization and conduct. The single object is the object of mind and mental factors that do not conceptualize or act. The separate object is the object of mind and mental factors that are associated with the realm of no perception, and those that focus on infinite space and infinite consciousness. The condensed subtle object is the object of the realm of nothingness. The ultimate object is the object of the realm of neither perception nor non-perception. The object of affliction is called an object because it is what is focused on. The object of dharma present in the words of the sutras is the collection of names, phrases, and letters of the treatises. The object of meaning is whatever meaning is expressed that depends on it. The small object is the Hearer Vehicle. The vast object is the Great Vehicle. The object with characteristics is the characteristics of calm abiding, attachment, and equanimity. The object without characteristics is nirvana and the peak of existence. The object of suchness is the object of suchness and the sixteen aspects of truth. The object to be dwelt in is the object of mind and mental factors associated with the cessation attainment. The object of mastery is the object of special qualities, such as liberation, up to the all-knowing. The momentary object is that very moment for those who are no longer learning. The object of following is the object of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. How is it established? The causes of the object as described are established only nominally, not truly, because the object is not fully established. Why is the object not fully established? It should be observed that the object is not fully established in four ways: thus, consciousness acts as a cause of disagreement, and consciousness without an object is an object, and without effort

Because it will not be reversed, and it is in accordance with the three kinds of consciousness. Regarding this, let me briefly explain what causes the dissimilar consciousness. As it is said: "Pretas, animals, humans, and, gods, each according to their kind, because one thing appears differently to the mind, therefore, it is considered unreal." The meaning is this: these things that appear as external objects, such as rivers, etc., are not established as they appear. Because for beings such as pretas, animals, humans, and gods, the same object appears as pus and blood, etc., according to their respective karma. Moreover, it is not possible to distinguish between the consciousnesses of these sentient beings and say, "This one is not mistaken, and the others are mistaken," because everything in name is not deceptive in relation to its own appearance. Therefore, those things that appear as objects, such as rivers, etc., are merely appearances of the mind, and there is no independent existence apart from the mind. If you say that without an object, the consciousness that appears there will not arise, then it is also observed that consciousness arises without an object. As it is said: "The past and dreams are the same, and the two forms with form, because they are non-existent and without an object, therefore, they can be objects." The two forms with form refer to external things such as the moon in water, and internal things such as skeletons appearing in the mind of a yogi. The rest is easy to understand. If things were truly established as they appear, then because everyone would see reality, they would be liberated without effort, or no matter how much effort they made, they would not be able to obtain liberation from the grasped and the grasper. Because the appearance of duality is not reversed, and the non-dual conceptual thought would become reversed. Therefore, it is declared: "If the object becomes an object, non-conceptual wisdom will not arise, without that, there will be no Buddha, it is not reasonable to attain liberation." Furthermore, because it is in accordance with the three kinds of consciousness, the object is not established. The three kinds of consciousness are: root
