There are three types: small, medium, and large. It is small because the causes of entering, abiding, and arising from samadhi are not obvious. It is medium because it has not been well acquainted with before. It is large because it has been well acquainted with. Among these, it should be understood that by the power of small familiarity, one gradually enters into the dhyanas and formless realms. By the power of the medium, it should be understood that one enters into samadhi transgressively, with an interval of one. By the power of the great, it should be understood that one can enter into samadhi as one wishes, or transgressively into all, in accordance with or not in accordance with the rules. By the power of aspiration, one who has attained the second dhyana, having entered into the first dhyana, if he wishes, he manifests the mind arising from the second dhyana ground; if he wishes otherwise, if he wishes, he manifests the virtue of the desire realm or the unlabelled and unobscured. Similarly, apply this extensively to others as well. By the power of application, at the beginning of entering into the virtue of the desire realm, only the mind that operates in the form realm arises. At the end of invincible virtue is the main part. At the end of that is the approximation of the second dhyana, and so on, it should be understood extensively up to the peak of existence. By the power of entering into samadhi, sometimes from the mind of entering into the pure, sometimes the pure itself arises, and sometimes it is afflicted. By the power of throwing, when one rises from samadhi and wanders, as long as afflictions that are incompatible with it do not arise completely and are not completely lost, then the mind of equipoise and the mind of equipoise follow in a momentarily mixed manner. Afflictions that are incompatible with this should be understood to arise universally by the four powers of cause and so on. Among these, by the power of cause, it is the karmic obscuration previously accumulated that will undoubtedly be completely lost. By the power of the object, if an object that is predominantly characterized by ugliness and so on, which is compatible with the arising of afflictions such as desire, appears. By the power of memory, by the discursive thoughts of memory, the past

It means to disturb. In terms of the power of attention, if one attends to the appearance of suffering through attention to conduct, then one attends to any appearance of suffering. In terms of the power of continuity, in the three realms, in the desire realm, form realm, and formless realm, each of the nine types of death consciousness has conduct that corresponds to attachment to the body. Among them, the death consciousness that continues from the desire realm to the desire realm after death should be understood as corresponding to attachment to the body of the desire realm. The death consciousness that continues from the desire realm to the form and formless realms is also understood as corresponding to attachment to those respective bodies. Similarly, the three types of death consciousness that continue from the form realm to the three realms after death, and the three types of death consciousness that continue from the formless realm to the three realms after death, should also be applied in the same way. That death consciousness is obscured and unspecified because it is extremely unclear, and ordinary beings continue in the intermediate state of existence by that power. For noble ones who have not separated from desire, it constantly arises until the mind becomes unclear, and after fully knowing it, it is cut off by the antidote. For those who have separated from desire, although they have not abandoned it, it does not constantly arise because the power of the antidote is great, and it continues by the power of habit. The moment of continuity in the intermediate state of existence is always obscured and unspecified, because it is a result. After that, it should be classified as good, non-virtuous, or unspecified. The death consciousness of the intermediate state of existence is always afflicted, like the state of death. The state of continuity of birth should be understood as always obscured and unspecified. The death consciousness and so on of those born by the power of the bodhisattva's aspiration should be understood as always virtuous. This is the explanation of the commentary. Since the death consciousness is the alaya consciousness, it is always only obscured and unspecified, so the explanation of the commentary is unreasonable. The consciousness at the time of death is always
