Me. (This is) the detachment from desire of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas, because there are other detachments before that. (This is) the unsurpassed detachment from desire, which is the detachment from desire of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, because for all sentient beings, it is a place of temporary and lasting benefit and happiness, so there is no other detachment more excellent than this. The detachment from desire mentioned here is merely not clinging to what is unsuitable. Regarding the distinctions of the three dharmas such as the learner. First, the learner is the virtue of striving for liberation and nirvāṇa, from what is in accordance with the aspect of liberation up to the vajra-like samādhi, this is called the learner. Because the person who has this (virtue) is learning on the path of liberation. The ten realms are the seven consciousness realms and the realms of form, sound, and dharma. The four sources are the sources of form, sound, mind, and dharma. One aspect of these is what is included by the virtue of striving for liberation. When one knows that the dharma of striving for liberation, aggregates, etc., are merely dharma, one abandons the attachment of thinking that I am striving for liberation. The non-learner is the virtue of the three trainings of higher mind, discipline, and wisdom having reached the ultimate, as well as the knowledge of cessation and non-arising, etc., this is called the non-learner. Because it is in accordance with this, it is listed as the non-learner. The ten realms and twelve sources are the same as the learner. One aspect of this is the virtue included by the ultimate learner. By regarding the non-learner who is liberated from saṃsāra as merely dharma, one abandons the attachment to self. Neither learner nor non-learner refers to the three types of virtue in the continuum of ordinary beings, as well as the afflictions included in the cultivation to be abandoned and the unlabelled and unindicated in the continuum of the learner, and the unlabelled and unindicated dharmas in the continuum of the non-learner, as well as unconditioned dharmas, these are neither (learner nor non-learner), because these are not the path to liberation. The eight realms and twelve sources are the five senses and smell, taste, and touch. Another aspect of this is abandoning the former two. Dharma that is neither liberated nor tending towards liberation.

By merely understanding these, one abandons attachment to the self. Dividing what is to be abandoned, such as what is abandoned by seeing, into three categories of what should be abandoned and what should not be abandoned. First, the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing are the three types of all-pervasive afflictions. Among them, the all-pervasive affliction of afflictions is: the views arising from afflictive conceptualizations, produced by the power of evil friends teaching wrong Dharma. The view of the aggregates that conceives of a self existing apart from the aggregates, and the view that grasps that self as permanent or impermanent, the doubt that hesitates about the four noble truths, and the place, seed, from which those views and doubts arise, and the mind and other mental phenomena that correspond to the place with which it is associated. The afflictions that wrongly enter into those views are the view of holding those views as supreme and principal, etc., and the adherence to those views, the holding of discipline, etc., as pure liberation, etc., the holding of discipline and asceticism as supreme, the denigration of the four noble truths, and the false views that fabricate liberation and the path to liberation, and the attachment to the previous views, and the anger towards things that are inconsistent with those views, and the near afflictions such as anger that are consistent with those views, and the ignorance that corresponds to those views. The all-pervasive affliction of karma is: any karma of body and speech that is aroused by those views, together with their correspondence. The all-pervasive affliction of birth is: the aggregates, elements, and sense bases that are included in the maturation of the evil destinies. These are abandoned merely by seeing the Dharma nature of the truth, because all are rooted in ignorance of the nature of the truth, and some are rooted in the conceptualization of the view of self. Therefore, these are to be abandoned by seeing. One aspect of all is what is abandoned by meditation and the abandonment of the uncontaminated. The purity of what is to be abandoned by seeing as described above is that it possesses the excellent view of seeing the reality of the truth, and this is only reasonable for the understanding of the impermanence of the aggregates, because if the self is permanent, then it is unreasonable for one who previously possessed what should be abandoned to be separated from what should be abandoned after seeing the truth. Therefore, the self
