The path of antidote is to sever the afflictions that have been previously abandoned. The antidote of complete suppression is the worldly path, which only weakens the afflictions to be abandoned and cannot eradicate their roots. The antidote of separation is the path beyond the world, which eradicates the roots of what is to be abandoned. The antidote to the obscuration of afflictions is the path of realizing the selflessness of persons, because it can eliminate the root of all obscurations of afflictions, which is the conceptuality of afflictions. The antidote to the obscuration of knowledge is the path of realizing the selflessness of phenomena, because it eliminates the root of the obscuration of knowledge, which is the clinging to reality and the manifestation of clinging. The virtue of the near pacification of what is to be abandoned is the abandonment of all afflictions such as desire, which is divided into two: the cessation of the feeling of the place of affliction and the cessation of the nature of affliction itself. The first is the absorption of cessation of perception and feeling. The second is divided into two: the Nirvana of the Lesser Vehicle and the Great Vehicle. The first is further divided into two by the difference between the aggregate of suffering not being completely pacified and being pacified. The first is Nirvana with remainder, because all afflictions have been abandoned, just like cutting off the head of a chariot axle, the leaves of the suffering of rebirth will not grow, so it is called Nirvana. But because the fire of suffering caused by past karma and afflictions has not completely subsided, it is called with remainder of aggregates. The second is the realm of Nirvana without remainder, which is like a fire that has consumed all the firewood, all contaminated aggregates have ceased, because the activity of conditioned phenomena has been pacified, so it should be known as without remainder of aggregates. Those who speak of these natures separately believe that they are established as permanent substances. The Sutra School believes that it is the non-existence of the exhaustion of what is to be abandoned. In the treatises of the Yogacara school, it is believed to be the nature of the Tathagatagarbha, which is completely pure. The first is distinguished by abandoning the origin of afflictions. The second is the cessation of all contaminated aggregates.

This is completely distinguished. Secondly, the Nirvana of the Great Vehicle is the Nirvana that does not abide in the two extremes of existence and peace. What is that? It is what the Tathagatas call the Dharmakaya. This is because the wisdom of realizing the two kinds of selflessness cuts off all the edges of attachment, so it does not abide in the edge of samsara like ordinary people; and with the power of compassion, it achieves the two kinds of Rupakaya, and benefits sentient beings as long as samsara exists, so it is not like Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, who only lean towards the edge of peaceful Nirvana. Therefore, it is called non-abiding Nirvana. The virtue corresponding to the cause refers to the special merits produced by the power of that near-peace, such as the five supernormal knowledges, the wisdom of wishes, etc., as well as the mundane qualities such as strength and fearlessness, and the supramundane qualities such as mirror-like wisdom, etc., as well as Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, etc., and the common qualities such as supernormal knowledges and cessation, etc., and the powers that are not common with them. These are accomplished through the virtue of causal meditation, and their nature is also virtuous, so they are called virtues corresponding to the cause. Regarding non-virtue, it is explained in three aspects, and the respective characteristics are explained in detail. The first is the nature, etc. Among them, nature, association, and initiation are classifications of things, and the rest are classifications of aspects. The eighteen realms and twelve sources are the same as good dharmas. One aspect of them is abandoning good and neutral. When it is known that non-dharma is the dharma that produces unpleasant Vipaka, one should abandon the manifest attachment to the non-dharma self that has the ability to produce unpleasant results. Explaining the respective characteristics separately refers to the four, such as ignorance, which are corresponding to the afflicted mind, and the co-emergent Satkayadrishti corresponding to the mind consciousness, as well as the following view of clinging to extremes, and the practice in the form realm and formless realm.
