It is also like that. What is said, such as "past form," "future form," etc., is said with the result in mind, saying "there is the past." It is said with its own characteristic in mind, saying "there is the present." It is said with only the cause in mind, saying "there is the future." Otherwise, the reasoning as previously stated would be harmed. Moreover, the All-Knowing One would not speak contrary to reason. Thus, the past and future exist only as designations, while the present exists as substance. This should be understood. Secondly, the difference between whether the three times and nirvana are objects of expression: Why did the Bhagavan take the three, such as the past, as the basis of discussion, and not nirvana? The dharmas included in the three times, such as the past, are the basis of expression. Because they are objects of conceptualization, and speech also follows conceptualization. Nirvana is not an object of expression, because it is only to be realized by each individual yogi. Because what one has experienced cannot be expressed to others through language. Because what the yogi experiences in samadhi with transcendental wisdom does not appear in the conceptualization that arises from all speech in the post-meditation state. The reason for this is that nirvana is the complete pacification of all elaborations, while conceptualizations arise with elaborations. Do things with their own characteristics also not appear to conceptualization? Why is only nirvana inexpressible? Although those things do not directly appear to conceptualization, they can be experienced as they are in direct perception, and they can appear in the conceptualization that follows the experience, so they can be expressed by words. Furthermore, nirvana is not a place of the past that has occurred and ceased, nor of the future that will occur and has not yet occurred, nor of seeing, hearing, distinguishing, and so on. Here, nirvana is the suchness of naturally nirvana, not with remainder or without

It is not the cessation of suffering. Secondly, regarding the objects of the three dharmas such as virtue, and the manner in which virtue etc. are established as shown therein, there are two aspects. First, it is shown by three meanings: among these, essence, connection, and origination are the divisions of objects, because all definitions of virtue are limited to this extent. The rest are merely detailed distinctions of the common aspects of things and imputations, in order to generate the wisdom of those to be tamed. The ten realms are the seven realms of consciousness, and the realms of form, sound, and dharma. The four sources are the sources of mind, dharma, form, and sound. In these, there are three possibilities: virtue, non-virtue, and neutral; the non-virtuous and neutral are abandoned. If one knows that the virtue that gives the desired fruit is merely dharma, then one abandons the attachment to the self, dharma, and virtue being combined. Secondly, the detailed explanation of the definition: the eleven mental factors from faith to non-harming, those with the definitions previously explained, are virtuous by nature, like good medicine, because they are born with an essence that is naturally purified. Those minds and mental factors that are in accordance with these are relational virtues, like a drink mixed with good medicine, because they are born with a nature that is purified by the power of companionship. The particular habitual tendencies of the essence and relational virtues are called subsequent relational virtues, like the seeds of medicine, because they possess the essence of the power of pure dharma. This is merely imputed as virtue, but it is not definitional, because the reason has already been explained in the context of showing the seeds of the all-ground consciousness. The actions of body and speech, whether indicative or non-indicative, that are originated by faith etc. and their associates, are originating virtues, like the flowers and fruits of a medicinal tree, because they are born with a pure essence from the power of origination. Suchness is ultimate virtue, because the noble ones with the eye of non-inverted wisdom consider this to be faultless and pu
