Karma is established as long-lasting. From the perspective of manifestation, time is completely severed, and its duration is established. These also occur in sequence based on the distinction between being related to other lives and not being related. From the perspective of something appearing as a corporeal entity to others, it is necessarily indicative. The arising of joy and things related to it are established as corporeal because there is a result of form, and the relation exists in the support, contemplation and understanding exist in the object, and what is to be harmed is established as corporeal because the definition of form applies. It is not the nature of form. The remainder are the nature of form. Because it is the nature of that form, it is corporeal, but it is not corporeal because it possesses other forms, like fire having heat and water having moisture. That which has become a basis of arising is also called corporeal because it possesses other forms, like a man having a necklace. Therefore, the elements and what has transformed from the elements are corporeal because they themselves are the nature of form, and they are also corporeal because they possess other forms, since the forms that have been made into causes possess the form of the elements, and the elements also possess each other. The distinctions of actual corporeal entities are only these. From here on, it is only a detailed classification made to generate the wisdom of those to be tamed. Activities in the desire realm and the form realm are corporeal because they are the cause of the arising of manifest delight in form. The arising of delight is the craving for form, from which form is manifestly accomplished. Mansions and so on are also regarded as corporeal because they have parts of directions such as east, and because the body extensively pervades places and locations, and because they can be indicated as residing in a certain place, and because in some place or direction they can become objects of mental use, and because for two or more people they equally become objects of common use. Non-corporeal things cannot become objects of use for both because they cannot be known by others as one experiences them.

It is not so. The consciousnesses of the senses are regarded as having form because the senses are related to the material support; and for formless ordinary beings, it is also because the seeds of form are subsequently related. Discriminations are regarded as having form because they discriminate the object of form; and all five aggregates are regarded as having form because they are fully touched by hands and so on, and because sorrow and so on can harm how they are known, and because speech and so on, which show the characteristics of form, make it understandable. Coarse things are also material because they are established as accumulations of subtle particles of matter. Looking outward is the form that is practiced in the desire realm, because it arises from craving for the qualities of desire. Looking inward is the form of those who practice in the form realm, because it arises from craving for meditative absorption. Long-lasting is the form of children, because the beginning and end cannot be definitively grasped. Completely cut off in time is the form of those in training, because the later end is definitively grasped. That time is the form of arhats, because only that much life remains. Definitely showing is that of Buddhas and bodhisattvas who have attained power, because it is only shown in the appearance to others, but in reality it is not established as it is shown. When reality and imputation are not distinguished, everything is material, but if they are distinguished, they should be appropriately combined: the aggregate of form, the realm of form, the ten sense bases, the dharma realm, and one aspect of the sense bases are material. By knowing that form is merely a phenomenon, one abandons the manifest clinging to self. Non-material is the opposite of material, and some are the opposite in meaning, and some are the opposite in both. Among them, what is not the nature of form is everything except the elements and what is derived from the elements. What is not supported by the elements is everything except the form derived from the elements. What is not the origin of manifest delight in form is the formless realms. What is not associated with direction but becomes an object of experience is all that is non-material. Form
