It is like mindfulness. The third is what yogis consider to be direct perception. What is death and birth? What is the divine eye that sees it? What is the knowledge of death and birth based on it, or how is the direct perception of the divine eye? The categories of beings, good and bad colors, dying from here and connecting the continuum to the future birth, that is called death and birth. What is the clear form that arises from the power of meditation and is gathered by the earth element, and is in equanimity? Seeing such death and birth, or seeing all coarse and subtle forms, whether destined or not, that is called the divine eye. What is the wisdom that relies on it and is similar to sense consciousness? This is the direct perception of knowing death and birth, and the direct perception of the divine eye. This divine eye also has three types: born with it, born from karma, and born from meditation. These should be understood as explained for the divine ear. The first two cannot see the intermediate state body, therefore they cannot know death and birth. What is the exhaustion of defilements? What is the direct perception of knowing it? Completely cutting off all bonds is called the exhaustion of defilements. In what way does one know the cessation and non-arising of the world, thereby completely cutting off and knowing it? This is the direct perception of the exhaustion of defilements. All six of these are of the nature of conventional knowledge, therefore they are only worldly. The first five exist in the continuums of children and learners, therefore they are with defilements. Those that exist in the continuums of non-learners are only without defilements. The sixth is a quality that arises in the continuum of non-learners, therefore it is only without defilements. Among them, the first three are only direct perception, not intellect. The latter three are both direct perception and intellect, because they are the antidote to the ignorance of the three times. When the time is right for a yogi who possesses these, it is called direct perception by approaching it, or abiding, or universally benefiting others, or answering questions about it. Among them, the first is miraculous power.

By showing various forms, one makes the non-believers believe, and increases the respect and faith of those who already believe. Secondly, one knows the virtuous and non-virtuous actions of others' speech, thereby encouraging and praising them. Thirdly, one knows all the virtuous and non-virtuous movements of others' minds, and then gives good advice. The last three, in order, abandon the extremes of permanence and annihilation, and without arrogance in the exhaustion of defilements, skillfully teach and advise the Middle Way. What do these superknowledges rely on to achieve? The first five superknowledges rely solely on the actual mind of the four dhyanas, and not on others, because the access attainments have less calm abiding, and the formless realms have less insight, so they are not suitable as a basis for achieving special qualities. The last three rely on the six dhyanas and the first three formless realms, because it is possible to attain the fruit of Arhatship by relying on them. As for the physical basis, the first five are achieved by humans of the three continents and the gods of the desire realm. The last three are achieved by relying on all three realms. Since all aggregates, elements, and sense bases are objects of the last three superknowledges, they are to be known. A yogi who possesses these superknowledges is called one who possesses power. As stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Birth, speech, and mind, virtuous and non-virtuous, arise; Their dwelling place and arising are all manifest; Having fully distinguished all knowledge, The power of attaining unobstructed teaching is power." As it is said. After understanding this, when one knows that the aggregates, elements, and sense bases with superknowledges are merely phenomena, one abandons the attachment to the self with superknowledges, as well as the knowable objects and the path. Among the six divisions such as form, there are two divisions: the division of form as real, and the division of real and imputed as common. The first two and the remaining ones are in order. Looking outward, etc., is the division of apprehended form. The remaining divisions are common to both apprehended and unapprehended. From the difference between meditative equipoise and non-equipoise, two kinds of seeing are established: outward seeing and inward seeing. The boundary of the latter is invisible.
