If names are assigned from the perspective of the object, then the consciousness of mind might also be mistaken for color consciousness, etc. Therefore, the consciousness that one wants to understand clearly will not be understood without confusion. Therefore, in the Pramāṇavārttika it says, "Having seen that which makes understand, names are definitely assigned. That exists in the names of the senses." Also, in the Tshadmas kun las btus pa it says, "Because of the uncommon cause, that name is established by the senses." That is what is being said. In the commentary, it is explained that the five ways of assigning words to the senses are reasonable, and that assigning words to objects is not reasonable. Although it is explained in this way, the assignment of words only follows the intention of the speaker, and is not based on the nature of the thing itself. Therefore, there is no reason why the assignment of words should not be reasonable for objects as well, so it is not considered reasonable. So, does the eye see form, or does consciousness see? To this, the Vaibhāṣikas say that only the sense organ with a basis sees, and not consciousness. Some Sautrāntikas say that only consciousness sees, because the sense organ is inanimate and therefore does not see. In reality, since all phenomena have no agent, neither one sees nor the other sees. However, conventionally, it can be established that both together see. Among them, through six ways, the eye is the main thing in seeing form, like this, because it is the cause of arising, so it arises from the eye; because it is its place, so the basis of seeing is the eye; because it enters without moving, so the eye is always of the same kind; because it enters independently, so the arising of each moment does not depend on the collection of conditions; because it enters beautifully, so it makes the place beautiful; because the scripture says, "The eye sees forms," as it is said, all these are impossible for consciousness. Also, among the six consciousnesses, which are with conceptual thought and which are without conceptual thought? Three conceptual thoughts

Therefore, only consciousness is that which possesses discrimination. For example, self-nature discrimination, recollection discrimination, and manifest action discrimination. The first is when experiencing the present action, discriminating one's own nature. The second is discriminating actions previously experienced. The third is discriminating things hidden in the three times of past, present, and future. Furthermore, there are seven discriminations: discrimination that arises naturally towards the object, discrimination with characteristics, discrimination without characteristics, universally seeking discrimination, individual discrimination, afflicted discrimination, and non-afflicted discrimination. The first is the five aggregates of consciousness, because they do not clearly grasp the object, but naturally enter into their own object as it is. The second is self-nature and recollection discrimination, because they clearly grasp past and present objects. The third is the discrimination that acts on the future object. The remaining discriminations should be understood as the nature of manifest action discrimination, because this discrimination sometimes manifests and universally seeks, sometimes individually discriminates, sometimes becomes afflicted, and sometimes becomes non-afflicted. In order to generally explain the six aggregates of consciousness and then indicate them individually, it is said, "What is eye consciousness?" Each of these consciousnesses should be understood through the three aspects of basis, object, and one's own nature. Among them, "relying on the eye" indicates eye consciousness from the perspective of its basis. "Focusing on form" indicates from the perspective of the object. "Individually discriminating" indicates showing its nature. The others should be applied in the same way, which is easy to understand. Consciousness has been explained, and through the perfect determination of the five aggregates of all these consciousnesses, their establishment has been explained. Now, since the establishment of realms and sources has arrived, they will be explained. First, it is desired to determine the nature of the realms.
