Because existence is not permissible, the reason is as previously stated, the afflictions arising from karma are not permissible. The second is the ripening result that has already connected rebirth in the place of birth due to the cause of existence. If it does not exist, since there is no seed, the phenomena that arise again cannot arise. The third is the very cause of grasping at self with mind. If it does not exist, the object of grasping at self with mind is not permissible. Differentiating by characteristics, there are common characteristics and uncommon characteristics, as well as characteristics that arise without sensation and characteristics that arise with sensation. The first is the seed of the external world, because it is commonly enjoyed by all beings. The second is the seed of the internal sense bases, because it is held by one's own continuum, so it is not common with others. The external world is not held by the mind, therefore the seed from which it arises is a seed that arises without sensation. The internal sense bases are held by the mind, therefore their seeds are seeds that arise with sensation. Among them, the uncommon seed will be reversed when the antidote, the transcendental path, arises. The common seed is not to be abandoned, because it is completely held by other conceptual thoughts, so it cannot be abandoned. Therefore, it is difficult to be abandoned by the antidote, and it is difficult to fully understand. However, for yogis who have gained mastery over the mind, even if the appearance of the external world does not cease, their vision will become completely pure, because for those who have gained mastery over the external world, gold, silver, and the sky, etc., will change according to the way they desire. Therefore, for those childish beings, the external world that appears as thorns and stumps, etc., to the Buddhas, will only appear as pure lands with lapis lazuli as the ground and patterns drawn with gold veins, etc. These meanings are spoken in verse form: Common bonds are difficult to abandon, and complete knowledge is also considered difficult.

From the great external signs, it is the yogic practitioner's term, mind. Although it is not ceased there, the vision of the pure ones is pure. Because the Buddha's vision is completely pure, the Buddha-field is completely pure. Thus it is said, therefore, the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, because they have attained the cessation meditation, only their vision becomes pure, but because they have not abandoned the obscuration of knowledge, the Buddha-field will not become completely pure. Bodhisattvas, from the eighth ground onwards, have obtained mastery over the common seeds, therefore they are able to transform the world into a Buddha-field as they wish. Therefore, they have obtained mastery over the pure Buddha-field. If there were not these common and uncommon seeds, the difference between the vessel world and the sentient world would not be possible. Also, the nature of bad rebirth and the nature of extreme taming. The first is the seed of afflictions and near afflictions. The second is the seed of wholesome contaminated things. Also, the nature of what has been analyzed and what has not been analyzed. The first is the wholesome and unwholesome habitual tendencies that have matured and have been brought to maturity. Without it, the maturation of a single wholesome or unwholesome action will not come to an end. The second is the habitual tendency of manifestation, its fruit is not what has been analyzed, because from the habitual tendency of manifestation, another manifestation will arise, and it will also leave behind the habitual tendency of another manifestation in the future, therefore the future is endless. The mind has been explained. Now the intellect will be explained. There are two kinds of intellect, namely, the intellect that thinks of self and the intellect that acts as an immediate cause. From the perspective of the first, it is said, what is intellect? This is to be understood through the definitive word, the object, the companion, the time of arising, and the reasoning of establishment. Among them, the definitive word is that any consciousness that always clings to the nature of self, therefore it is called intellect. What is the object that it focuses on? It focuses on the alaya consciousness, which is the nature of fruition. How does it focus on it?
